This proposal has been dragging on for years. As an honest friend, I'd suggest to Palace is that the best bet is for them to get relegated a couple of divisions, as they then won't need such a large new stand.

    I HATE THEM!!!
  • they've pissed off the neighbours who face losing their homes so Palace can have a ground that isn't an embarrassment: https://insidecroydon.com/2022/08/10/residents-blocked-from-meeting-by-football-clubs-lobbyists/

But where will we go if we are homeless again ?
London stadium.   WHU have moved even closer to us since last time, in anticipation.

I live about 20 miles from there and they are pissing me off as well !
  • The stand they are doing up does that not effect the sainsburys store there as well?

Just looking at google maps, if its there so called main stand that would take up all of sainsburys parking plus the houses they are planning on knocking down without their input. Not to mention the houses on Clifton road being dwarfed.

mate, you're lucky. I live miles away from there as well and like you they do still piss me off but on the other hand Millwall are planning to build their training ground literally 5 mins from me. I also don't seem to have a say in it.

    Interesting situation.
    Wonder who gets the cash.
    Probably a decision for RD.
if it’s TS then he’s had a touch because they can pay our rent and more for a while
Thats assuming they need to move out for a bit of course.

Parry told Inside Croydon, “The families have told Thompson that we want to relocate now. We will not wait years, we have been neglected and misled since 2018.

“We want regular and honest communication from the council and the club.”

And Parry had a warning for the developers, their lobbyists, and for their own councillors. “We will not be picked off one by one,” he said. “We will only relocate once all six families have acceptable agreements in place.

“We will expect substantial compensation beyond the minimum payment on offer.

“In 2018, the side agreement affecting Wooderson Close was never signed and the tenants were never consulted or involved. Now we demand that it be renegotiated and the tenants are involved in those decisions as per the public commitment from Mayor Jason Perry to involve tenants in all housing issue decisions.”

That's it - go on! Sting 'em for all they're worth. I hope these families put the stripey gits to ransom. Wouldn't it be funny if some of them were secret Charlton fans?

No, the Sainsburys would still be there.

  • Serious design fault with this new stadium.

The seats are facing the pitch.

Is that the actual design of the new stand? It's like a crap Thunderbirds base. Jesus that is so so bad my eyes hurt. They might be premier League, but you can't buy class and style. That whole ground should be demolished.

Only palace could spend £100 million and still have a stadium that includes the Arthur Wait unchanged

  • Let's hope they get relegated right at the start of its construction.

still got a way to go, sounds like the dealing with Sainsburys is fractious at best, as well as the local residents they are putting out. Think it will drag on, hopefully by then they will have finally been knocked down a peg or two
  • Ffs scum
    palace

light years ahead of our circus

and we tug off with a couple of portacabins at the training ground with a lick of black paint thinking we’re gonna get CAT 1 for our academy out of a caravan ffs
