By the sound of things we're not great payers these days, so his salary will be out of our current league

Last one.  Sarr has 20 goals in 228 appearances, a goal every 11 games for a centre half isn’t too sad, majority at levels above league one, would have cheered up the “where are the goals going to come from” mob.
About what stockley is on target for so far and he’s our main striker 🥳
Well since you asked.  He scored 20 in 38 last season, I’ll let you do the maths.
    Yes
    it was a joke

Only Charlton could have a Transfer thread, where only chat is about the transfer of ex players, Taylor an Starr taking up a chunk of our time now.

Comes with the territory, we love clutching at straws 😊

Jokes aside, I’m fairly gutted too.

Naby in league one under garner ball is perfect.
Funny I'm not so sure Garner wants his centre backs hitting 35 yard Hollywood passes into the west stand.
or getting bullied into conceding at the last minute at your local rivals or scoring a 30 yard own goal in the play off final
    Really?
2x Championship clubs have offered him a contract, since leaving us. One of them was in the Championship playoff final which he started.
He is playing at a better level than what we are because he is a Championship-level CB which is why we would have no chance in getting him back.
not my cup of tea - nothing to do with his colour btw before leuth starts
I'm with Doucher on this one, I thought Naby was shit

    So very pitiful ain't it?

Saw 50 odd new comments and then it's Nabby Fucking Sarr at Reading!

People have run out of potential signings cos first there isn't any potential or indeed signings, so like pop music, when there's nothing new happening then let's turn on the nostalgia.

I saw Scott Wagstaff down Bluewater five guys last week. I'll ask him if I see him again.

Absolute mustard. Was he perfect? No. Was and is he a Championship level Center Back? Yup.

He's actually something of a Rosetta stone for me on how to view peoples' football opinions. If you simply think he's "shit," and can't see any quality in him, I'm not interested in your football opinion.

Also, the subject of one of my favorite exchanges on here. I was once told Harry Lennon was better than Naby Sarr despite Lennon having made some bad mistakes defensively. They are currently three divisions apart.

Unless I'm much mistaken, this thread should become obsolete in less than a week, finally put out of its misery. It's been running for longer than I've been a member, which has seemed like an eternity, not just for me but for all reading the endless reams of shite (not a poster reference btw) and I include my own contributions in that, with so very little to show for it.

I reckon we should sign this guy to pair up with Anthony Scully, if that’s a signing that goes ahead.

reckon they’ll form some partnership down the right hand side

C'mon now, can't lay that one at Naby's door, that was Phillips taking his eye off the ball..🤷‍♂️

Blimey only just noticed that, fancy disliking a player that much you blame him for a goalkeeping howler.

Deluded if people thought Naby would have dropped to L1. Level and Salary wise.
Naby gets a 4 year contract on Championship wages.

Would Charlton have offered him that?

I certainly would have contributed to @Leuth 's KickStarter

Sarr and O'Connell as our center backs, we'd have Luis Enrique and Pep Guardiola coming to our matches to take notes.
  • Can’t believe anybody seriously thought  Naby was ever an option.

Same people who think we could sign Taylor or Grabban on loan.

    OH BOLLOX !

I have just realised there are only 6 days to go until we all have to take our hats off to Golfie and say he was right for months ! Come on Thomas make it so it doesnt happen !!!
You can doff your hat to me as well, I said the day Leaburn signed a pro contract our search for a striker was over. Thomas aint gonna part with any cash for the likes of a Stockton
You may be right, but at the back of my mind I suspect Thomas is expecting big bids to come in for Miles, which he’d probably accept. Leaving us with two strikers, one of whom is (and often is) injured, the other of whom has a suspect back.
It’d make sense to invest a bit, surely, in which case he might end up with a second saleable asset.
Leaburn is going nowhere this season.
No matter what, he is expected to be a big star of the future in afew seasons for Charlton or a top club.

    I sincerely hope you’re right. 👍
That’s what I was told from above.
Sandgaard knows what Leaburn could be worth if he keeps improving.
Of course IF and WHEN Sandgaard has had enough of Charlton he will sell what players he can just as Roland has done.Sorry to say that but as we all should know without The Valley and Sparrows Lane in same hands as club we are well and truly up the creek

“But at this moment I haven’t had that, so I’m assuming each player will be here at the end of the window.”

So no more incomings or is that opinion that has been repeated so often its now treated as fact?

Sarr cruising in the Championship, but not good enough for us in League One?

No they’re not.  I thought we might of had a sniff round Sarr seen as we’re desperately short of a LCB.  But was aware we had absolutely no chance of Taylor or Grabban.

Alex Gilbey has started to recieved other offers with more money on the table. If a deal does come off we are looking towards deadline day now.

I am told another signing should be in place before Tuesday. Emphasis on should.

Is he talking about us or Lincoln?

I think you have got to be a very 'special' player to be good enough for Charlton in League 1!

We gave Aneke 3.5 .  At least Naby is invariably fit .

Not that I wanted him back, I hasten to add
