Mason Burstow - on loan to Bolton from Hull (p53)

Good luck to him. Move on.0
-
I said to Mason Burstow good luck with his career as I thought it may be short at Cafc just after he made his debut. As he gets stronger he has a chance.
Zak Lovelace, not a porn star but a 16 year old who has just got a move to Glasgow Rangers from Millwall. He made his debut for Millwall at 15 last season. I knew about him as he had one season at Glebe, Chislehurst, as a boy and the owner was telling me about the young talent that had played for Glebe including Lyle Taylor, Smith-Rowe and keep your eyes out for Zak Lovelace who was at Millwall. So no surprise when my son told me the news just now.
So difficult for even Championship teams to hold on to the special talent especially when they are goal scorers like Zak and Mason.0 -

I’m sure Aribo will end up in the Prem or another major top flight league sooner than later.Karim_myBagheri said:

Quite a random place for a 16 year old Londoner to move tosoapboxsam said:I said to Mason Burstow good luck with his career as I thought it may be short at Cafc just after he made his debut. As he gets stronger he has a chance.

Joe Aribo is a role model to the young black players especially the kids who come from Christian family similar to Joe did in London. Calvin Bassey the Strong defender who shone in the Europa League last season for Rangers as well. I can't believe the Premier clubs weren't aware of Zak Lovelace but perhaps the school education on offer as well as the football side helped the decision.0 -
Played 70 games last season - more than any other top flight player in Europe.Karim_myBagheri said:

A physical machine as well as silky ball skills. Antithesis of a Charlton player. No wonder he moved on before SE7 could ruin him!Valiantphil said:

Anybody heard any rumours about where Burstow is going to be playing his football this season?
Surely Chelsea will loan him out rather than keep him playing youth football?
And if they do, be interesting to see if its a move to a League 1 or 2 club.0 -
I heard they want him to stay in their U21s this season because he needs a lot of coaching. I would imagine in purley volume of "contact hours" he is miles behind is peers in their academy.Fortune 82nd Minute said:Anybody heard any rumours about where Burstow is going to be playing his football this season?

Burstow started in Chelsea U21s 7-1 win at Wolves last night. Subbed off after 62 minutes but didn't score or assist. The kid who came on for him scored twice.0

Another reason why it'll be great when we finally get Cat One status.
Its great seeing our kids doing so well, getting to the National U18 Final each year etc.
But as we proved against Burnley yesterday, both us and Sheff Utd (I don't know if they're trying to get better Category status themselves) really need to move up now I think, as it doesn't feel as though the competition is there for us at the moment.
Be nice if we can truly see if the likes of Adigun | Kanu can match the best kids in the country.0 -
To be fair i thought Burnley would've had category 1 status, they were in the Premier league for 6 years so i'm surprised they're not.0

He won’t do anything at Chelsea, he will turn into another Lookman.0

Lookman has hardly had a bad career, Everton, Liepzig, Leicester and now Atalantaeaststandmike said:He won’t do anything at Chelsea, he will turn into another Lookman.32 -
They did... It got revoked this summer, so have just dropped to Category 2Chris_from_Sidcup said:To be fair i thought Burnley would've had category 1 status, they were in the Premier league for 6 years so i'm surprised they're not.
If Burstow can have a career that spans the Premier League | Bundesliga | Serie A, then he'll have done alright.eaststandmike said:He won’t do anything at Chelsea, he will turn into another Lookman.19 -
Lookman has been nomadic but has done well at Fulham and Leicester - I suspect they would have signed him but they seem to be skint. Burstow had the odd moment but I wouldn’t have thought he will make it as a premier league player .ForeverAddickted said:

But what has he done, lasted less than 12 months at all the clubs you mention and achieved next to nothing. As stated on the Lookman thread he appears to have a bad attitude towards training hence getting bumped from club to club.BigRedEvil said:

What, playing and scoring for a top 6 chasing side in the PL and being on the books of one of the big 3 in the Bundesliga, and now signing for European competition regulars Atalanta? Not too shabbyeaststandmike said:He won’t do anything at Chelsea, he will turn into another Lookman.4 -
He was Fulham’s best player by a mile , played well for Leicester . Whatever you say .eaststandmike said:

Everton - Wanted to loan him to Derby, and then refused to sell him to Leipzig after his loan... Yeah maybe he should have knuckled down and got on with things, but was still only used as a bit part player, so dont blame him for wanting to leave permanently when something could finally be agreed.
Leipzig - Great first stint... Shocking second, but then the second was with a different Manager
Leicester - Who knows if they wanted to keep him, the fact they've lost Schmeichel, and haven't signed anyone this summer, reads to me like a club that could be in a bit of trouble, rather than not wanting him.
Edit: Yup... Leicester wanted to keep him...

Who says he has a bad attitude? He went to Leipzig on loan and then they signed him which they wouldn't have done that if he had a bad attitude.
Brendan Rodgers said this just 2 days ago:
"I would have loved to have signed Ademola, who was great here last season and got over 10 goals and assists but we weren’t able to do that," Rodgers confessed when asked if City are going to be able to make signings. That doesn't suggest 'bad attitude'.
Surely also the fact he's willing to go abroad and try new things where he doesn't know the language suggests he's willing to do what he can rather than just be 'nicking a living'. If he was happy doing that he'd have just sat in Leipzig picking up his wages as he still had 2 years left on his deal.17 -
Nicking a living - what a ridiculous comment. None of us know what has gone on at each of the clubs that he has played. All I know is that whenever I have seen him on TV he has looked dangerous and one of the best players on the pitch.eaststandmike said:

Okay guys, I am clearly not allowed to criticise an ex player and we have derailed the Burstow thread for long enough.
Lets revisit both threads in 12 months time and see where the two superstars are at in their careers6 -
Fulham were relegated . Leicester have no money - read the May comments from Rodgers about how they wanted to keep him.eaststandmike said:
