    If we are serious about promotion I think we need at least
    1 x GK 
    1 x RB 
    2 x LCB 
    2 x LB 
    2 x CM 
    1 x RW 
    1 x ST

    So that’s 10 players, realistically we will probably sign 7 or 8 unless we can move a few on

    Does Reed play in the same position as Dobson? If so, although I wouldn't argue about needing more depth in that position equally I wouldn't have seen it as a priority given the gaping holes elsewhere in the squad. Hopefully, we'l bring in enough quality elsewhere for that not to matter.

    Yes he does, if we play the same system Swindon played last season.  You can't dictate what order you sign players in.

    We’ll have five loans I would think. Only two permanent signings seems unlikely to me.

    Possibly the hope/intention is that if Reed has the destroyer role then maybe Dobson can be given a new, more advanced role. He's not bad at picking passes and scored a worldy against (I think) Walsall?

    Maybe they want to try him further forward and Reed is there to cover the DM role.

    Yeah I'd say 5 major signings plus 5 loans/back ups is about what I expect.
