Only good in the Summertime so probably not good for a long cold Winter.addick1956 said:

"We’ve seen some of the bigger clubs, talking loans, specifically contacting us now, because of the hiring of Ben Garner, so it has had a positive impact on that front too.”
This makes sense to me, if the clubs know their player is going to come and play possession football and not 'kick and run.'4 -
Not so sure we would be favourites. The Red Robin said:
We’ve got to be favourites there surely. It doesn’t say but I’m assuming that’s a loan move?Bubble said:
Edit: the author has confirmed on Twitter that it’s a loan move.0 -
Interesting TS claims more players and bigger clubs are interested in loan deals due to us appointing Garner and his style of play.clive said:
Makes sense as possession football and high pressing is popular especially at the bigger clubs. Some had suggested we missed out on better loans due to TS being unwilling to pay for them, my guess it’s a mixture of both.
All talk at the moment of course, we’ll have to wait and see if we get a better quality of loan player. Those type of loans are usually available at the end of the window so it’s a gamble that some of them will choose us.
If it doesn’t work out we can always get someone on loan from Luton and bring Adam Matthews back.2 -
Losing out on players to MK, Sandgaard really is taking us to the next level, league 2 that is.5

You'd have to imagine Tucker was a target of ours as a ball playing CB. You have to ask why he would choose a team such as MK Dons over a team such as Charlton. It could be recent form but losing Twine will hurt them replicating that, they have less atmosphere and less history to their club. Would have to move farther away so you'd think wages have to play a part. If (as has been reported previous years) we're still haggling over 5/10% and thereby losing out to rivals its concerning.0 -
Don't fall of your chair with this dose of reality, but MK Dons are actually better than us.4

are people really paying Alan Nixon for his shit?0

Firmly still on my chair, and yes clearly they are a better football side than us currently but they are a smaller club - it shouldn't be a given that we can't tempt players with a club and fanbase of our size. Dons have zero atmosphere but there's no guarantee they'll replicate their form once Twine and Parrott leave. They've been successful because they're not afraid to spend and ultimately money talks, to me they're clearly offering more than us.mendonca said:Don't fall of your chair with this dose of reality, but MK Dons are actually better than us.0 -
MK market theirselves as a stepping stone for players. Would maybe be assurances over game time that worked in their favour. They got Twine over championship clubs because of their playing style, which is more established than ours at this point. He was one I guessed we'd announce prior to Spain as heard he was keen. At this point, on paper, they are more likely to get promoted than us also. Lastly, with the money they're being offered for twine being likely reinvested. This will inflate their budget drastically.Vfrf said:@ButtleJR

Why would he pick us over MK? Because we've got a nice stadium? We finished 13th.
Anyway it's silly getting knickers twisted over anything Nixon says2 -

Cawley also saying we're not in for Tucker
Edit: sorry he said Tucker is not one we're close to getting done

They have hardly spent anything over the last 3 years. The only significant money they spent last summer was on Eisa and that was paid for by the sales of Fisher, O'Riley (sounds like a tag team) and Fraser.Vfrf said:

This post hopefully leads Mrs TS to suddenly execute the signing of 10 players ASAP and tell Cawley he's wrong!Scoham said:5 -

But JJ's dad said he would definitely be at Charlton this season. Put him on Dazzlers list.Callumcafc said:2 -
Obviously we will sign players. I think the concern is that they will be dogshit and/or injury prone dossers signed in the last 2 weeks of the window.Scoham said:13 -
If he was one of those pencilled in for next week, it's very disappointing whatever the reason. Ipswich, Sheff Wed & MK Dons all 2 in already, the later now 3 if true, although Tucker might be the first one we've lost out on.ButtleJR said:

We're not alone in having not signed anyone yet, Portsmouth and Oxford of the possible promotion contenders also drawing a blank so far, but we desperately need to see Scarfy return from his hols.0 -
Personally not over fussed by Tucker, I don't think he is that great, and he certainly isn't a ball playing defender!4

He says don’t be massively panicked, so he’s saying we should be a little panicked then?Scoham said:
This is how CL doom mongers and my wife read into everything anyway.10 -
One thing about Gillingham's defense, they may have got relegated but conceded less goals than other teams around them. Tucker was a big part of that.2
