I never thought I'd say this , but we missed Declan Rice tonight , he links the play so we'll. For me Saka got found out the most .1

Wow. Been out tonight, so missed this, that's a shocking result however tired or demotivated the players were

Southgate is useless, time for him to go1

We are basically playing our reserves for what is our 4th game in 10 days in June.
It's June, we should be watching the cricket and the footballers deserve to still be on holiday.
I don't blame the players at all. I blame the organisers of the schedule.8 -
Graham Potter is the 3/1 favourite to be the next England manager. Eddie Howe next at around 6/1. Pochettino could be an interesting candidate. I was against a foreign coach but he is pretty well respected in England, especially by the Captain.0

ValleyGary said:Theres absolutely no way the FA are gonna sack Southgate off the back of a crap nations league none of them wanted to participate in. Are the same questions being asked of France? Belgium who were beat 4-1 at home (KDB actually said they don’t even wanna be there). The main focus is 5 months away in Qatar. Won’t stop a total overreaction towards the manager tho.
I know I wouldn't.
They should be on their holidays for at least 4-6 weeks.
I honestly feel sorry for them, they need a break.3 -

Have the Hungarian players had a similar schedule? Genuine question0
-
To a man, the players looked completely disinterested in th 3 games I saw (missed Italy).
Tonight was another level of shit. Haven't seen England that poor for a long time.
Is it the beginning of the end for Southgate? Who knows. I think it shows that the depth in the squad isn't quite a good as some would believe. Amazed that Pope wasn't given some time, Ramsdale was awful tonight.
I'm not sure that England have gone from potential world cup winners to "the worst team I have seen in years" in the space of 4 pointless friendlies where scratch teams have been put out and most players are pissed off because they think they should be on holiday.0 - Sponsored links:

England v Hungary 3-6 1953 - YouTube
At least we had an excuse then ... too many Woodbines ... and rickets, of course.
I saw a glimpse of 'Garnerball' from Hungary tonight ... high press and lively forwards.
4-2 is the new clean sheet win.0 -

Was at the game, and it was absolutely atrocious. No defending it.
After the game, the players came towards the main kop where the supporters club fans were based and they looked genuinely shell shocked. Couple of the players holding their hands up in apology before clapping the fans.
I’m very much in support of Southgate, but sadly I agree with the suggestion that there are a number of people who really wanted a result like this just to say “told you so”.
On a separate note - watching England at a club stadium felt much more enjoyable than at Wembley (performance aside).

You cannot blame Southgate for this result or any of the performances, its ridiculous to schedule these games the way they have. No wonder clubs get pissy about players going on international duty.
We have a world cup coming up in the middle of the season because FIFA are run by corrupt maggots and toads and now the nations league which started as an honourable distraction from pointless friendlies scheduling games bang on top of each other with no time to rest, recover, train and prepare in between. In June! Fucking let them have a proper break, all this has done is let a ton of people throw mud at the most successful manager we have had in most of our lifetimes and propose we replace him rather than acknowledge the fixtures have been atrociously planned.

It's an awful result and a painful shocking one.
I hope the result stays in the players mind and it angers them before heading towards the world cup. The memory can be used as some extra bit of fuel.

This’ll all be forgotten about once we get a bye an easy run to the semis but woe betide we get unlucky and bump in to a behemoth of a footballing nation like Croatia along the way3
-
is anyone really using the number of games as an excuse..? in a world cup year??? Ok...2

If this was a normal world cup year, THIS is the fucking garbage we would be served up right now. How much recovery would they have had? stop making excuses
the world cup has been played for decades after the normal season in june/july3 -

Southgate - "I am really clear on what works for us as a group and what doesn't work as a group"
Pretty clear that this means playing 352 instead of the 433 we played last night. On reflection i think it was a pretty makeshift side. I think if you add Chilwell, Maguire, Rice, Sterling and Foden to the starting lineup, with James at RWB then there's no way we get beat like that.
I think we'll see him go full strength (injuries permitting) for the last 2 games in September.0 -

This is the worst result I can remember for England, with the most talented team of my lifetime, you definitely can blame southgate0 -
Keeper did himself no favours last night, was there an England man of the match?0
-
I think Southgate has too much loyalty which is a big mistake. Because Phillips did a job for him at the Euros, it should not be overlooked that he can't play the position he was given yesterday. Two advanced skillful midfielders who require quick accurate ball. Phillips hasn't got this in his skillset but Southgate took Gallagher and Bellingham off and kept Phillips on.
I thought James and Kane had ok ish games.0 -
Keeper poor, Phillips poor, Bellingham poor, Bowen poor. Hungary four goals from five shots, another day that's one goal. England two shots on target, just not good enough. Red card appauling, if VAR does not cover an incident like that, then get rid (or use it for every single decision, as I have said all along - though I don't agree with it's use at all, actually).
Rather this week than in November/December.

Ah, but "they were not the Germany of old...", "it would have been different if we didn't have home advantage" - insert your own lets-never-give-England-any-credit cliche here...1 -
