Just in case any lifers are interested I am giving a new talk '500 Cockney War Stories' as a result of some research I was asked to do recently into the size and scale of Londons contribution to the Great War.
It's being held at Petts Wood Royal British Legion,
It's being held at Petts Wood Royal British Legion,
Queensway, Petts Wood, Orpington BR5 1DH next Thursday 31st around 1900 kick off.
It's a nice venue, reasonably priced bar and Colin Wagstaff, the Chair of Petts Wood WFA who are hosting the event, has asked me to invite anyone from Charlton along.
His usual numbers are 50 or so.
It's a small contribution on the door from memory, £3 or so I think and I will 'witter' on for about an hour.
Be nice to see a few of you interested in history down there.

Same venue as Bromley Addicks but our guests are usually better.
Better footballers that is.1 -

@SE7toSG3 is there anything about the home front?0

Yep, air raids, Silvertown, buses and the vital square mile economic power from memory but as the organisers wanted mainly fighting stuff probably not enough to do it justice in an hour long event tbh.0
