I’ll be honest he missed a real decent chance against the scum iirc in our relegation season …. And for me , well that’s tantamount to treason0
-
To be fair that could apply to any number of our players in that fixture!!😂oohaahmortimer said:I’ll be honest he missed a real decent chance against the scum iirc in our relegation season …. And for me , well that’s tantamount to treason1 -
Yeah because all our players in history in the men's competitive game have always done well against MillWank.oohaahmortimer said:I’ll be honest he missed a real decent chance against the scum iirc in our relegation season …. And for me , well that’s tantamount to treason0 -
Of the 2 in the first half that sailed out, one was a cockup but the second to the far post was very close to Famewo there, and was a legitimate attempt at a difficult delivery. The second time he tried that corner we scored.wmcf123 said:
The corners that go straight off the pitch is a product of him always trying to make them dangerous , rather than just aimlessly chipping them into the box, which we’ve had all season .oohaahmortimer said:His best point has been some of his set delivery’s but there are also corners that go straight off the pitch
He tries super hard and there are green shoots of recovery although I’m not seeing what others are but in all honesty I’m a football snob who won’t be tugging any of this worst footballing period in our history’s players off too much .I agree - he’s no Claus Jensen , but we are in division 3.2 -
Make Albie captain. Rebuild the club around him and the other kids. At least they give a shit.4
-
I said to make him captain last week and got roundly mocked. Well, Gilbey was our captain today. I don't feel I need to add anything to that4
-
If Morgan is our captain next season, we can expect another season in league 1 the following year.5

Pratley never, ever hid. I'll give him that. Would have been a large improvement. Wouldn't have given us much play going forwards, but would have at least done something about Oxford's effortless progresswmcf123 said:

He still lacks the defensive side of his game, if he gets that he will become a complete player, if not then this is probably the highest level he will reach.0

Where is Albie?

Sadly, he has had enough chances. He needs to find a new club and work his way up from there, which he may well do but it isn't going to happen here.1

Oh good, the Albie Morgan thread has surfaced again.
*reaches for the popcorn2 -
This is the cycle, isn't it?nelsonsleftfoot said:Where is Albie?

False dawn...
Disappears...
Other midfielders are shite...
"Where is Albie?"

When you analyse the recent performances of Gilbey, Fraser and Lee, it's a nonsense that Morgan can't even make the bench7
-
It’s a farce . Lee has been awful, let’s be honest - Gilbey has been very occasionally effective , or god awful, or has more often hidden, Fraser has been useless - it’s crass that Morgan has been ditched for one average performance away at Wigan .killerandflash said:When you analyse the recent performances of Gilbey, Fraser and Lee, it's a nonsense that Morgan can't even make the bench3 -

If Albie Morgan is the answer what the hell is the question?0

Been ditched because he had so many chances to stake his calm he failed every time … that’s why not just one gamewmcf123 said:

Agreed its a bit depressing that actually Morgan doesn’t look any worse than Lee, Gilbey or Fraser, but that doesn’t really help because none of them look very good2

Who has more potential than the rest of our midfield?LargeAddick said:If Albie Morgan is the answer what the hell is the question?3 -
How many good games have Lee and Fraser had lately ? He was playing well . I know it’s fashionable on here to say how bad he is but he was good in most of the games when he played .RonnieMoore said:

Are we sure he hasn't just picked up a knock in training? - Its bizarre how he's just disappeared so suddenly.
Was unused on the bench against Sunderland and Accrington, and hasnt been seen since, so its not like he's been subbed on in either game and has put in a disappointing performance - Unless he's said something stupid in training.1 -
It’s not the first time it’s happened, and under different managers as well.ForeverAddickted said:Are we sure he hasn't just picked up a knock in training?

Literally hasn't progressed in 3/4 seasons of football now, he's going to be a waste of a squad space soon, unless we let him go2

Not picked by a manager who continues to play players out of form, out of position, injury prone, can't last 90 mins. Not picked by a manager who is failing in many areas.
A manager that has picked a formation continually that on results doesn't work.
Many fans don't rate Albie but I do and think he would thrive in a better side actually. Technically better at passing, set play delivery and commits to shutting down the opposition for 90 mins than many others.
Albie maybe better off at another club but those who continue to want a homegrown scapegoat e.g. Fox wont be happy until they run another out of this broken club.4 -
To digress a little, there may be a clue to the performances of Frazer and Gilbey in that they both suffered bad bouts of Co vid but I think Albie coming on against Wimbledon may have given us a better attacking edge, he wasn't on the bench so I'm starting to wonder if he may be moved on, shame if that's the case.2
