Bangladesh have never beaten or even drawn with the NZ Black Caps in 9 Tests in NZ, 15 in all. After 4 days at Mt Maunganui here in the North Island in steaming hot weather they are in a good position.
NZ surprisingly left out their 10 wicket in an innings spinner Ajaz Patel. Bangladesh won the toss and put NZ in and they were dismissed for a respectable 328. On a comfortable batting pitch Bangladesh replied with 458, a lead of 130.
At close of play the Black Caps are 147 for 5 wickets, a lead of just 17

And that was with three very late wickets which have put Bangladesh in a strong position.
Mind you, they did review this decision...

What's the point of having a review process when decisions like that are not overturned. Clearly BBW (cue Dave Mehmet!)

The reaction to that all round was brilliant, but the sighed "OK" from the Third Umpire wins it.1

Pretty certain that Nasser got given out LBW against Pakistan when the only thing that hit the ball was the bat. That was before DRS though. Still a bad review though0

Anyway, NZ will fight tooth and nail. I'd have them evens to survive0

Ebadot rips out Taylor with his second ball0

Took under an hour. Bangladesh took a couple of absolute rippers too. Was expecting them to struggle over the line. Hey, they still might0

No, I don’t think so Leuth. they knocked off the 40 required for victory with the loss of 2 wickets. Earlier the Bangladeshi quick bowler Hossain had taken 6-46. This was the first home defeat for the Black Caps since March 2018.0
