Cambridge 2-0 Walsall FT
Leyton Orient 0-0 MK Dons FT (pens)
Forest Green 1-1 Chelsea U21 FT (pens)
Sutton 0-0 Stevenage (53 mins played)
Swindon 1-2 Colchester (52 mins played)
Ipswich v Arsenal played tomorrow
Exeter v Portsmouth played in two weeks
Neither they nor Aston Villa bothered to even mention the game on their twitter accounts.
I know the whole reason for the kids to be in the competition is for THEM to gain experience in the Senior Game - But given how the clubs have demanded B team access to the EFL, it would be nice if they made an effort to actually advertise these games.
Edit: Finally found it on Google...

They had to sign the latter after his penalty defeated them in the League Cup.killerandflash said:

We've got some good keepers coming through at the moment.LoOkOuT said:I reckon Harness is a keeper;-)
Every time I’ve seen him, he’s been very good.
As well as harness - who I agree looks very good - there is of course Maynard-Brewer out on loan who looked very impressive when he played last year. And the young kid Beadle, who was touted as being on his way to Chelsea, could be the best of the lot should he stay.
Will be interesting to see who finally comes through as top dog.4 -
Flabema? They've got Jimmy Floyd back?killerandflash said:

Im a little surprised we've been seeing Nathan Harvey on the bench in these games, especially as Beadle was in the first couple.Fortune 82nd Minute said:

Didn't get to watch the match. Anyone in the Vila team worth us trying to bring in on loan in January?
0 -
Good performance tonight. The ones closest to the first team squad now are Elerewe, Burstow and Arter on that performance out of the non first teamers.
Kirk actually looked better defending and bringing the ball ot of defence than he does at the other end of the pitch. Bakrin looked good and not much behind Elerewe
It was a real shame Morgan's great free kick hit the post. It may have lifted him had it gone in.
I have enjoyed all 3 of these home games this season and its a real shame some of our fans look down on rhese games. They are fun and it is good to see who is coming through. Burstow would probably not be developing as well as he is without these games.11 -
Not really... I did quite like Cameron Archer but equally wonder if there is any point - He didnt look much better than BurstowExiled_Addick said:Didn't get to watch the match. Anyone in the Vila team worth us trying to bring in on loan in January?2 -

Agree, although believe it or not, MacGillivray was on the bench against Crawley!ForeverAddickted said:

What a hotchpotch of teams still left in the competition, to think we could play the Arsenal or Chelsea U21s next, or play the likes of Sutton or StevenageCallumcafc said:

Enjoyed that. Thought Bakrin was our best defender, Harness was excellent and Burstow a real prospect.Would like to mention Kirk & Morgan who both had their moments. Morgan’s assist was class and he was unlucky to only hit the post with his free kick. Kirk showed great touch and team play.
CBT gave them something to think about too and maybe it was having the experience of players like Watson that made the difference. He’s never outstanding but he’s usually doing the right thing.14 -
Perhaps they've been working on Kirk in training, tightening up his defensive game and preparing him for a wingback role?Southbank said:

Jacko's lopsided 3-5-2 is evidently to continue as the preferred formation; in that respect, it wouldn't surprise me that extra work is being done with each of our wingers to improve their defensive role.

The problem for Kirk is that he played better on the right, without providing the end product that Leko, DJ and CBT have provided in that role

I enjoyed that! OK it fell away a bit in the second half but there was some cracking football from both sides in the first half.
Good to see some of our younger players looking very promising. Burstow showed once again that he has one heck of a future if he keeps developing. Can only hope that some Premier League team doesn't have a crafty punt on him very soon. Elerewe getting all the praise at the moment for breaking through into the first squad but Bakrin doesn't look that far behind him to me. Would be good to see those two go on to form a first team central defence for us. And Harness is a promising keeper.
Strangest thing was seeing Harry Arter get roughed up by the Villa players. They gave him one or two pretty heavy knocks and he looked glad to come off!
Praise to JJ for picking just the right team - a mix of experience and youth. It's a rubbish tournament I know but as I think we are only 3 (or possibly 4 - is the semi final 2 legs?) I'd really like to see us give it a good go to get to Wembley.

I'm sure after the Orient defeat, we heard from Jacko? Nothing tonight!0

That sounds positive about JJ, enjoyed the game and thought Villa looked very good going forward, but our boys more than matched them and deserved the win.2
-
That Burstow goal reminded me of Darren Bent.12
-
Just to clarify that Arter came off with a gash to his shin.0

Piss poor percentage, need some decent strikers 😉up_the_valley said:

Have I missed any really good jokes about how old/slow Watson is?
