Wonder if Ballance being a white Zimbabwean or an old Harrovian is a bigger factor

I don't know if i'm alone but I hate the way the Aussie's drop the ball on the ground so quickly after taking catch. Its like laying groundwork for when they drop one and claim the catch

    That's very irritating.

There are two things I hate about Australians playing cricket.  The first is the unnecessary, raucous and nauseating shout of "Nno-Rrraaarrrn" whenever they tap the ball gently toward a fielder.

The second is everything else they say or do when playing.

I don't think that the Aussies are unique in that respect but there is a lot of it and I don't particularly like it either. In the days when the Umpire didn't require the ball after a wicket it didn't happen. There are also occasions, in particular with keepers, when players try to throw the ball up in celebration before they even catch it

Like you say I think most sides are guilty of it, but there were some incredibly annoying ones in that innings
  • Australia win by 8 wickets off 6.2 overs

Gayle really is a sad representation of a once formidable white ball batsman. And it's been going on for a long, long time too.

Since 25th March 2016 he has been out 28 times in T20 internationals - just one 50 and total runs of 378 at an average of 13.50

1st time I've ever posted this on Charlton life.
    But

    Come on Scotland.

  • Bet Ashwin absolutely loves being reverse swept for 4 by Munsey on 3 consecutive balls. Has Munsey no respect?

    a)it's cricket
    b)it's Scotland
    c)they're probably mostly English

Yep - out of their depth. Their batting has been woeful and players like Coetzer and MacLeod who, once upon a time were capable of a big innings even against the better playing nations, are coming to the end of their international careers.
  • NZ have to beat Afghanistan now to prevent India from qualifying

Exactly this, how many of their batters were bowled/lbw? shouldn't be that many missing straight balls in an innings.

Namibia have at least shown a bit more talent and application than Scotland, I expect they'll put up more of a fight against India.
For the neutral a big Afghanistan win on Sunday would at least mean there's an interest in the India game the following day. For me, as much as I've enjoyed watching Afghanistan; I hope NZ crush them and take it out of India's hands.

Perhaps just a win rather than a crushing one. India would still have the ignominy of having to turn up on Monday, play a dead rubber with Kohli desperately trying to justify why it's still an important match

35-3 off 3.3 overs is rather a typical Windies score!

They started well but just try to hit big off from every ball.

If anyone from Scotland was really good, they'd play for ENG. As in Morgan playing for ENG not IRE. Weather in Scotland not conducive to playing cricket! They did well to qualify for the final 12 but jave been mostly poor since

    Why no national anthems broadcast?
  • I see they went with Wood to replace Mills. I think the obvious choice. The one niggling doubt I have is in losing that left arm angle which is so key in T20 cricket. Was half expecting to see Willey in for Woakes as the opening powerplay bowler ot give us that option. But woakes has been excellent so far and can't be dropped and we can't afford to lose Jordan as our death bowler. The other option was to use Topley instead of Wood but as much as I'm a fan of him Topley is half the bowler Wood is.
  • I wouldn't necessarily mind a heavy defeat today. Get it out the system and piss the Aussies off
  • How was that umpires call!? It’s hit him plumb I front of off stump.
  • Getting worried here
