Beware - they are back with a vengeance tomorrow:
"... on the morning of Wednesday 27th October the M25 will become a place of nonviolent civil resistance to stop our government committing crimes against humanity."

'Crimes against humanity', they do go a bit over the top.0

Bring back the Popular Front for Judea.**I can see it boiling over tomorrow now they've announced it.0

Bunch of absolute wankers only intent is to cause hassle for millions of law abiding people. I really hope one of them comes a cropper, they don’t care about people trying to get to hospitals etc, pure scum.5

Guess who needs to go on the M25 from the M26 to the A3 at about 8am tomorrow....
Might suggest to the kids we get up and out about 5.30!2 -
Are they sticking themselves to the concrete you can grow?10
-
That cracked me up - I may not agree with them over the protests, but Cameron the carpenter was brilliant. It was perfect to just leave the silence there for Mike Graham (and everyone else) to really think about what he'd just said.Cafc43v3r said:Are they sticking themselves to the concrete you can grow?

Regardless of what you think of Insulate Britain, that bloke's genuine bafflement that someone could say something so stupid was golden.Cafc43v3r said:Are they sticking themselves to the concrete you can grow?

Why did Talkradio think this showed their presenter in a good light?
First he thinks he's clever asking what the guys job is (IE he must be unemployed or a student), then he doesn't understand that trees grow but concrete doesn't.12 -
I’m not disagreeing with you, still made me laugh thoughHenry Irving said:

I said on the other thread that I hoped they all took a good hiding....I still stand by that. Spiteful pricks.1

Shame we don't have any of those "Road Train" style trucks over here, good luck laying down in front of one of those.0

Is the "nonviolent" part of the statement a request from them?2

I imagine TalkRadio's very recent Google history contains "can you grow concrete?"Cafc43v3r said:

During the XR turn out a couple got up on a DLR train, and members of the public dragged them off.Knowing how Tipper drivers can be like, one of them will get out of his cab with a lump of wood or a baseball bat and clout some one to a bloody pulp.
Personally I would nick the banner, then they change from protesters to obstructing the carriage way, liable for prosecution.0 -
...and they found Synechococcus. From which a very poor substitute for "concrete" can be developed. Unfortunately Synechococcus is marine phytoplankton. Which would mean harvesting it from oceans. Where its main - probably only - task is to absorb carbon.AllHailTheHen said:

Great.
Having to take the youngest to Darent Valley Hospital tomorrow for his regular Diabetes check up. Living in Swanley its usually quite a quick & simple journey - on the M25 at J3 & then off the next junction at j2, up the slip road to the big roundabout & then turn right towards the hospital. No more than 20 mins (15 on a quiet day). There are alternate routes, either along the Hawley Road or through Swanley Village & through county lanes & up via Sutton at Hone. Can even go via Wilmington or Hextable.......but if the M25 is buggered then all these other routes will be too & the 15/20 min journey could take much much longer.
If I happen to be at the front of the queue when they start their protest then god help them, because I wont be stopping.6 -
Just read their "communique".
.......givernment refusing to insulate Britain
Wtf ???
I'm sure last time I looked you could walk into B&Q and pick up a roll of loft insulation.
Bonkers & quite frankly frightening.6 -

Good luck to them, while also hoping no-one gets hurt and no-one misses an important appointment!
The UN Emissions Gap report suggests current plans are far too weak;
"To stand a chance of limiting global warming to 1.5C, we have eight years to almost halve greenhouse gas emissions: eight years to make the plans, put in place the policies, implement them and ultimately deliver the cuts," said Inger Andersen, executive director of Unep." - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-59049770
Once that tipping point comes in global warming, there's no going back. I think more desperate forms of protest are inevitable.6
