Clayden at left back?! He can't even defend/track while playing in midfield.

Maybe that's the lesson, Kirk will be playing left back tonight.....

Sadly this is too much like the first team. Lots of sideways and backward passing, no movement up front or ability to drive through from midfield.
Well, it was said that the club want consistency throughout all age groups.....starting with the first team.

In the ghost fixture at sealed off Sparrows Lane tomorrow against Millwall we are likely to have another ‘lightweight’ team, as we had at Cardiff on Tuesday.
Most senior players will be travelling up to our likely slaughter at Sunderland.
Lots of sorting out for the club to do today.

On the Charlton TV list it has a 'watch live' invitation for (a depleted) Charlton v Millwall U23 presumably tomorrow. Presumably from Sparrows Lane.
If this is true it is an excellent move.

The game against Millwall today is scheduled to kick off at 2pm at a behind doors Sparrows Lane.
It is flagged up as possible to watch on Charlton TV.
No formal preview on the official site, but there in U23 fixtures, and I stumbled on the watch invitation when logging into Charlton TV in the hope of seeing the Johnnie Jackson pre Sunderland press conference.

The game is not open to spectators, as part of Covid safety protocols at the club’s training ground, but supporters will be able to watch the game live on CharltonTV with coverage beginning at 1.55pm.

To watch Friday’s game, you will need a CharltonTV subscription.

You can purchase a subscription here, with an annual pass available from £60 or a monthly pass from £6.50.

Alternatively, supporters can purchase a 48 hour pass for £4. If supporters purchase a 48 hour pass before Friday’s game, this would give them access to the live stream of Friday’s game and access to live audio commentary of Charlton’s first team game against Sunderland on Saturday, as well as access to the full CharltonTV archive for 48 hours.

Click here to purchase your CharltonTV subscription.

U23s beat Cray Wanderers 2-1 in what appears to have been a very hastily arranged friendly at Hayes Lane tonight

Some very slick passing and 2 good goals. Downside was the often almost suicidal passing out from the back.

I have one but it’s as good as Tits on a fish as the CAFC side is just a squad list - no numbers again st each player.
wassim played but wasn’t on the list and the same can be said of a CB called Tristan who looked ok

Sorry no. I saw one from a distance. The announcer didn't even get the team.

The trialist was good. Particularly when their large No.9 tried to back into him and he stood his ground. Their No 3 would make an excellent wrestler.

Why aren't spectators allowed at Princes Park today? I went to the last U23s game there.

Supporters are welcome to attend all of the Addicks' development squad matches at Princes Park. Entrance is free for Valley Gold members and season-ticket holders, or £3 adults and £1 juniors on the door.

Guess that they were trying to sell more passes. I'm heading down to Dartford shortly.

Cheers also found his name on a Valley Gold link.

Can an U23 team have seven subs if they want to? - Surprised that Mason Burstow isnt involved

In consideration for the first team squad tomorrow? Maybe he's one of the backup players for the 18, seeing that we slightly short on strikers

Yes, Terry just mentioned that Burstow and Bakrin were sent off in the last game so suspended for this game.

Deje with the first team tomorrow.
  • Decent team Bristol - will do well to get a result with the absentees but we're giving it go.
