I wonder why this wasn’t an issue for the past 28 years that Sports Interactive have been making the Championship/Football Manager games.
On an unrelated note, Man Utd have also announced the Coronavirus pandemic has so far cost them £28m.

Expect it’ll have to be something fairly different. Not sure if Juventus threatened to sue, but they’re called Zebre on FM20.0

Sets a precedent if they win the case though as then loads of other clubs can/will also sue FM.
In the article it also says United argue FM have infringed their trademark over their logo by not using the official United crest in the game, instead "replacing the club crest with a simplified red and white striped logo".
But surely if they'd used the club crest, then United would have also sued them for using that too?3 -

Most people download 'mods' for FM for badges, kits and to correct fake names (German national team), so looks like it won't be an issue for most as their real name will be added with the name download.2
