Cover to cover (Apologies to Henry) "I see a darkness"

So I was listening to these version of Bonnie "Prince" Billy's "I see a darkness"  and thought I would appropriate HI's model.  I hope I will be forgiven.

Listen and decide which you prefer.

First Johnny Cash's 2000 cover:

Then BPB's uptempo 2012 remake.

Needs a bit more huskiness in his voice, but the latter is better, at least more with the times (obvious reasons).

I do like the classic feel to the original.

Video is weird as flip though.
  • The actual original is so depressing I thought I would be pushing my luck posting so stuck to JC's cover and then BPB's cover of his own song....

Yeah sorry I meant the JC cover, I can't even find the original version?

Wait it's the same guy in the remake as the original isn't it?

I am just listening to the 99 version that's definitely depressing sounding, not helped by the poor singing.
  • Wow.  I almost feel like crying after listening to that.

I'm off to listen to Steel Panther's F*** 2020 now to cheer myself up.
