I think it'd be really interesting to see and (non verbally) hear in one place, what people thought of the open training session today.
If you went to the Pardew one, how does this compare?
What did you think of the players on show?
Any other views on it?
P.s Not this one:

I am there. The talk with Curbs was excellent and Nige joined. Enjoying the training as is my lad. Way more people than I expected which is good. It is decent value imo for a morning out with my boy.44

@Athletico Charlton
Any chance of a pic of the "crowd" assume it's west stand only? Forcing you all to look upon the Alan Curbishley East Stand.1 -

The Alan Curbishley Stand (or East Stand as I'll always know it as) is the best one in the Stadium!!5 -
I love sitting behind/beside the home dug outs when I come to the Valley. Now Andy Marshall has left, I suspect there will be far fewer profanities.ForeverAddickted said:

Only sections I've not sat in are the West Upper and the two QuadrantsDazzler21 said:

North you get a great atmosphere, West you get decent leg room.
East though was where I saw my first games with a friend of my Dads, along with school tickets etc. so was always getting my S/T there

I was in the olde north stand diagonally behind the goal in my younger days, then north upper, J block.ForeverAddickted said:

I quite like the quadrants for a good angle and being near the atmosphere without the swearing, but really love being around that half way line.3 -
That'll be what the 3 managers have seen in training that stops them from picking him then 😂ForeverAddickted said:0 -

It looks like more players than fans.
Schwarz looked like the last one out of the tunnel, head down looking at the floor, with a "I really don't want to be here look about him".0 -
If anyone trod in dog**** Bowyer sends his apologies.

Have really enjoyed it, Q&A was great and enjoyed getting a question away to Nigel and Alan, then training looked good. Davison looks very sharp. Ronnie was not pleased he missed his training pen, but good to see him out there.
Youngsters out there with 1st team were Elewere, Davison, Ghandour, Clayden and Dempsey.
New home kit looks better in the flesh than online.A couple of pics of my lad making the most of the experience.

Suggests we won’t be bringing in that sort of player to play ahead of him.ForeverAddickted said:
Will be interesting to see how he does this season under NAs management compared to Bowyers. Got a good feeling he’ll push on as he’ll get a run of games and the shirt number shows there's faith in him. I don’t see NA focussing so much on his weaknesses or dropping him as often for defensive errors.Feels like he’s a player that could really benefit from NAs positivity over Bowyers “if it worked for me it’ll work for you” approach. Bowyer was always bringing up the time George Graham dropped him, but they’re different players in different times, playing at different levels.9 -
Looks like he has single-handedly shutdown the training sessionT_C_E said:If anyone trod in dog**** Bowyer sends his apologies.

Nige was in good spirits. No big reveals. Didn't see TS (but wasn't looking for him), his other half was there so assume he was somewhere. The men's team and Nige not allowed to do autographs because of Covid (which I had expected) but my lad got a load of the ladies team and was star struck, especially as they all talked to him a bit. He then got autographs from Curbs and Minto on his shirt, a bunch of pictures and some stuff from the shop. He loved it.
West Stand bottom tier open, a decent amount of fans I thought(it was only a training session after all) but I am bad at guessing numbers so wouldn't even attempt. There were 160 odd at Curbs thing before hand I think I heard an organiser say (I would have guessed 200).

I'm fine with him being the main man in that position, or at least sharing with Gilbey. Its now or never for Albie and he's looked promising in pre season.Scoham said:

I don't we it was likley that would bring in a starting player as a "10" like Fraser or the Welsh marmite types. Maybe as a plan C or D. I think Adkins currently prefers a more physical presents there. Clare was the most advanced of the 3 against Palace.Scoham said:

Big season for Albie, not only to nail down the shirt, but more so in defining a position or role that he can call his own.3 -
Obviously I was there yesterday so I'm unaware of what happened today, but my visits over the past months have made me aware of how much The Valley has been neglected despite the best efforts of the staff. But simple things like hiring a cleaning crew that were present yesterday to clean the seats rather than getting in fans to do it and It was pretty obvious the sound system was being attended to in some way. Lots of work being done around the place that a couple of those Range Rovers I'm sure would have covered the cost of are now being done out of Tommy's pocket, stuff that we wouldn't see or take for granted. I'll be at the first game and I'm so looking forward to seeing the place rocking again I really don't care if Lionel Messi leads the team out or some herbert plucked from Charlton park because he can do 3 keepy uppies with either foot, football is coming home and its coming home to The Valley.44
