So far so tense. To be expected in a semi final. Good hit to get that fee kick up and down over the wall but Pickford showed him too much of that side. It was a long way from the corner.We’ve got in behind them a few times though and probably could’ve done without the halftime whistle - we looked to be settling down again nicely.
Level at half time probably about fair. Denmark no pushovers, which won’t surprise anyone who has been paying attention to the tournament.0 -
Just rewatched the foul for the fk and no way it was a foul, if it was there were a couple of their blokes doing the same... Clear and obvious error? Maybe/maybe not. But I'd be embarrassed and delighted if we'd scored from a similar foul.

Take away that daft free kick and we're the ones with the chances. We are being a bit stupid not exploiting the gaps between their centre halves and wing backs apart from the two times we did it and got shots on goal. That's where we'll get joy. Other than that though Sterling is worrying them with his running, Kane is worrying them coming deep and turning and Pickford is worrying me by having one of those Thursday night at Goodison games. Need to be calm in the second half and probe the space and we'll be ok. Grealish and Foden primed to come on and we should have more than them

Perfect time to have a break really.
Need to take a couple of minutes to calm back down at the back and make sure we keep it tight. Denmark are capable of breaking quickly and sometimes we push too many of our midfielders up at once.
Pickford needs a couple of touches early in the second half just to ease his nerves.

Just watched the Denmark goal back, very clever from them to have that second wall blocking Pickford's view, rather than simply having a wall in front of the other - Wonder if that'll be a tactic we see more often2

I called this at 9am and felt Pickford would make a mistake. The Danes deserved more respect and hope the latter part of the above comes to fruition. The Danes look super fit and sharp.2 -

Was just thinking similar. Very clever but Pickford should have been more central as soon as the whistle went. One thing I’ve noticed is how deep Kane is dropping tonight
In attack he turns into a bit of a false 9 and Sterling goes into the centre forward position. That’s what resulted in our goal, it’s really working.0 -
How can a country with the small population of Denmark (5.8M) have such a good team? Can England create a team as good sourced from residents of the combined population of Tyneside, Liverpool and The Midlands (5.8M)? In the USA we can't get it done with 330M people.
