Decent first half. Build up still a bit slow at times, but once Grealish and particularly Saka get the ball we are causing them problems.

I enjoyed that. We look great going forward and Pickfords ability to pick a pass into Kane and Grealish is such a bonus.

    Saka and Grealish been superb.

Imagine if you actually trusted the youth and had the likes of Bellingham, Saka, Sancho, Foden in this side. Would be lethal.
3 of them have played and at least 1 has started all 3 games.  Let's drop Kane and Sterling and play a 4-1-5-0🙄

I assume you also want Grealish in this fantasy team?  Overlapping full backs as well?  2 up front?

Nice to see the full-backs making runs forward too, even if they can't cross to save their life.

PWR. A better half than Friday but that wasn't difficult. Grealish and Saka looking good and causing problems. More probing passes and Kane much better. Sterling still not very good despite the goal as he continues to choose wrong options. We can definitely score more but at the same time don't look very solid at the back.

Is the Scotland match on anywhere ? It seems that even ITV2 is showing the England match. Looks like the Auld enemy might be a better watch for the 2nd half.

              Bellingham    Rice

    Sancho            Foden           Saka

                           Kane

Grealish/Sancho and Saka can rotate to stay fresh. Sterling on for the last 30 because he's pacy.

Saka looks a talent and Grealish is just a joy to watch.

Phillips really is overrated. Just making up numbers tonight
Phillips has been better than Rice.
Not sure about that. My issue with Phillips is I'm not sure where he plays. Rice protects the back 4 but Phillips moves up a bit more without doing enough to notice. I guess that's the formation/tactic issue rather than Phillips himself who was obviously superb first game. Think Bellingham more suited to this one tonight.
I would have Bellingham playing some part tonight too. Phillips can protect the back four well too, he’s more than capable. But yes he’s been tasked to get forward more which he can do, it’s clear Southgate wants someone who could break forward and find that pass, but also more than capable of being defensively sound as well.
Ah I totally agree he can do it, but with Rice that part of his game isn't as necessary. So yes he's being asked to go forward a bit, hence why I think Bellingham is the better fit for this game. I do rate Phillips though, I'm not criticising him, think he will be useful in the next couple of rounds.

Was it not him who sent the ball out to Grealish for the goal?
    It was Kane.

Phillips played it to Saka it ended up falling to Kane who played Grealish to cross, Saka jumped too early and the always dangerous, but not always lethal Sterling was there to nod home through his perfectly timed jump.

For the last 30 I’d rest Sterling, move Saka to the left and bring on Sancho.

Decent first half and we looked good the few times we went up a gear. Philips and Rice still so negative together and hope this is the last time we see it. Still conceding chances to a poor team due to not being able to control the attacking half of the pitch at length and still way too slow knocking it round the back endlessly.

A better display than against the jocks, but I'm.still not convinced that formation. The 2 holding mids does not allow us to play to our strengths.

Don't understand why so many people want Phillips dropped, he's done a perfectly decent job in all three games. Bellingham looks good, but he's also only 17.

Don’t mind Henderson for Rice. He will move the ball quicker.

I think Henderson will struggle to maintain intensity, but this could be the game he scores.

Sterling is such a weird player.

Seems to do some really daft things and then pops up with a goal.
