Well, time to look forward to another season. 

Can Essex continue as the dominant 4 day team?

Will Harmer continue his ridiculous wicket talking figures?

Can Porter, Cook (Sam) and Beard take the wickets to support him?

will Cook(Alastair), Westley, Lawrence etc get the volume of runs needed ?

    well after a tame draw in the first match of the season, Essex are currently 81-8 against Durham. They won the toss and elected to bat !

    I'd like to say typical Essex, but that hasn't exactly been the story of the past few seasons!

    Essex all out for 96
    and Durham get to 98-1 before ending the day on 148-8 
    Lawrence bowling Borthwick for 100

    Great win for the champions !

    setting Durham 168 with Essex last 3 wickets adding 122 
    and then Durham were 83/3 Harmer worked his magic(5 wickets in each innings) and they were all out for 123

    What a win.
    96 all out in the first innings.
    On the ropes for the rest of the match until the final morning when Harmer once again shows his class.
    Still not lost at home for 3 seasons.

    Well after a couple of dodgy games the batsmen have finally turned up again. 

    412-3 Dec against Derbys

    Then had them 35-3 in reply to spin as light faded.

    Another batting collapse away to Durham

    went from 179-5 to 182 all out

    Durham all out for 99, spread nicely between Cook, Porter and Siddle and Essex currently 15-3! Is it being played a Vimy Ridge?

    I've noticed Porter isn't playing against Notts.

    Injured? If so is it short term or Charlton?

    Got a decent line up of porter, snater, cook and Siddle so guess there's some rotation without knowing all the ins and outs, though currently struggling against notts
