Thanks @Scoham for sharing the Tweets here and for your kind words @lancashire lad.
It was Steve's idea to bring along Charlie and Aaron and so glad he did - hugely impressed with them - a credit to themselves, the club and the Academy. They came across as grounded and honest, yet hugely passionate about their football. Steve was as consummate and impressive as ever.
We'll post a fuller write-up on CAST website and link on here.6 -
Thanks to CAST for organising the event. Very reassuring to hear Steve talking huge amounts of sense and to hear how much he stays in touch with former academy players wherever they've gone. That screenshot though - looks very much like nobody else found Weegie's joke funny1

What I didn’t understand was why Aaron Henry had a spooky bit of purple ectoplasm floating about him, is it the Battersea Poltergeist?4

A thank you to CAST for hosting the evening, impressive performances from Steve, Charlie and Aaron. Let’s hope the latter two fulfil their promise and become regular first team members for us.2

An excellent evening and great work from all.
Once or twice in the very darkest days under Roland, I did think about terminating my membership of Valley Gold. What dissuaded me from doing so was the tremendous work of Steve Avory and his colleagues. The man is an absolute hero.
Very impressive turns also from Charlie and Aaron. I'd have loved to have been that articulate as a teenager - or, indeed, now !
