Too young to really remember him but grew up on replays of that special goal against Ipswich.

One of the most talented and skilful payers of the era. A real character too.

    RIP Frank

Frank was married to the daughter of Noel Dwyer (Irish goalkeeper) who apparently had a spell with Charlton Athletic.

    RIP.
  • Oh no. One of my favourite players. It's easy to trot out words like 'that player was unique' but Frank was a bit of one-off IMO. RIP Frank.

Terrific player for Huddersfield and Bolton. Scored some very good goals, and a few against Charlton too. RIP.

Most definitely one of the games characters. A man who’d had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus. A sad loss to Football. RIP

And Leicester City too where our own Len Glover used to supply him with crosses.

A great player to watch as others have said. RIP Frank.

He was a true entertainer, and like all right thinking people, he loved Elvis. My mate Benno played with him at Preston, and only has good things to say about him. This is them celebrating promotion - Benno is the one next to big Sam with his left arm in the air. RIP Frank.

The PNE squad celebrate promotion at Orient in April 1987

Didn't Lennie try to sign him when he was at Brighton?
