Looks like Mingi is now back as a midfielder, design or necessity?Henry Irving said:Dylan Gavin makes the jumps from U18s sub to U23s starter.
Otherwise, very similar side to recent weeks0 -
I imagine they’re off today as they’re first team players so got today and yesterday off?ForeverAddickted said:Good to see Dylan Gavin's name is appearing again
No Gilbey or Inniss though?1 -
Is the sub numbered 14 Johl Powell or a new recruit to the squad?0

No AMB?0

Surely a sub keeper doesn't need a rest!Leeds_Addick said:

Indeed when was the last time AMB actually played a proper game?0 -
Disappointed we're not putting any first teamers out.
As others say, Matthews, Inniss, Gilbey and Schwartz could all benefit from at least playing a half. *IF FIT5 -
Yes, I recognise a few names. I imagine Nige wants to see the U23 players, but a shame the likes of Ronnie can't be given some game timeHenry Irving said:So they are playing the fringe players from their first team rather than their u23s.0 -
When he has played for the 23's of late he's come away with head injuries... Maybe we don't want to risk another concussion in unimportant (to the first team) games.killerandflash said:

I probably agree with you but when NA brings the whole squad (including Inniss) to Wimbledon and then says he’s giving them 2 days off before training during the international break then I would think he’d give breaks to the subs as well.killerandflash said:

Assuming no one has found a stream for this? Would really like to watch this afternoon0

If there's one thing this squad could do with, it's a rest.Leeds_Addick said:

Not the players getting splinters through lack of action though. The likes of Ronnie, who's just getting 10/15 minute cameos, definitely won't be tiredDazzler21 said:

NA said we'd play from practice/behind closed doors games over the break so still time for Gilbey. Innis etc.4

It's probably mental as well as physical though.killerandflash said:

The other issue is that I think the u23s might be in a different bubble from the first teamers so maybe they don't want to mix and match too much in case of Covid19 infections.
Not 100% sure on that but if I'm wrong Thomas will apologise to you all on Valley Pass in five or six years time.5 -
I agree mostly. The regular starters though... Also Bowyer was pretty open about the intensity and regularity of his training, definitely think those I listed before could do with game time.killerandflash said:

surely the new manager would benefit watching fringe players and players returning from injury rather than an u-18 striker promoted to the u-23’s.
play the players who have a chance of making an impact on the first team and watch the youngsters in the next game
it would have been a good opportunity to learn about players strengths and how to utilise them.Schwartz would benefit from 60 minutes. Plus a trip to Coventry would take him away from being sat in a hotel Tom by himself.1 -
Agree mostly, but then again NA is one that likes to bring through youths and as HI has said:Todds_right_hook said:surely the new manager would benefit watching fringe players and players returning from injury rather than an u-18 striker promoted to the u-23’s.

I didn’t read that bit. It would have done Schwartz good though, if he is stuck in a hotel room. Being a senior pro mentoring the youngsters could also be a bit of a confidence boostDazzler21 said:

Agreed, there's a big difference between playing against genuine outside opponents and an inter squad game, especially as Coventry are playing several of their first team playersTodds_right_hook said:surely the new manager would benefit watching fringe players and players returning from injury rather than an u-18 striker promoted to the u-23’s.

But who's Tom, and does Ronnie's wife know about him?

I can’t tell you that. It’s cryptic for those in the knowkillerandflash said:

why the hell are Coventry called PUSB? hate this lingo that's used. it's worse than textspeak!0

Play Up Sky Blues0

Coventry currently 2-0 up0
-
27’ - POST! What a strike by Jamie Allen, from around 30 yards out he unleashes a powerful effort which looked destined for goal, but the ‘keeper made a fantastic save to tip his shot onto the post. [1-0] #PUSB
33’ - GOAL! City break away and it’s Joe Newton down the left who charges forward and slides the ball through for Gyokeres and he picks out Shipley in the box, who fires into the back of the net! [2-0] #PUSB0 -
Is the Shipley any relation?0
-
Madness that Coventry can field a team like that in an U23s match.I count three/four potential first teamers (Bakayoko, Allen, Shipley and Pask at a push) as well as two Premier League loans (Sheaf and Gyokeres).0
