Before every game i compare line ups and think i would not swap any of ours for any of theirs, yet we end up being outfought and outthought ...
Think LB would be more use on the training ground taking the midfielders and someone like Paul Cook who knows the lower leagues and how to get out of them, taking charge but fear if we replace Lee then suspect his replacement will be Danish. Anyway think Cookie is mulling over offers from other clubs at the moment.0 -

So where is the evidence that LB has the necessary skills to not only turn this around, but propel our club up the leagues where he will face much stiffer challenges?
It simply doesn't exist; it is only due to loyalty that we are stuck with a leader incapable of leading.
At the start of last season he had 2 players (some of them no where near championship quality) for each position, he used the same system for 2 years. Everyone was comfortable playing it. Even when we fielded u23 teams at Swansea and Derby we played much better than we had any right to. We should have got hammered.
I have no idea what happened in January 2020 that's still having an effect on him.
Even the basics of playing players in their correct positions, or even actually knowing what their correct positions are seems to have gone out the window. I think it's only Amos, Pearce, Famewo and Stockley that have played in 1 position this season.
What's our identity, what's our formation, what's our style of play? What's our best team? For 2 years it was obvious, since then I don't know and I don't think Bowyer does either.4 -

I believe that he wouldn't fail and even if he did I wouldn't forget what he did for us. The only person that is the obvious choice for replacing Lee if it happens I think, all the other suggestions concern me or leave question marks0 -

If Sheff Utd were going to sack him, they would have done it last autumn while they still had most of the season left.
Now relegation is inevitable barring a miracle, I should imagine the Sheff Utd board will trust Wilder next season as the best manager to get them promoted.
After all, he's got them promoted twice before.

If that had been less severe, surely we'd have gained the 3 or 4 extra points that would have given us 2nd place and automatic promotion?
Remember, for example, when we lost Cullen and Igor in the same match, both with dislocated shoulders? Page, Pratley, Pearce, Solly, Reeves and Grant were also missing for long spells - and during February with Grant sold and Taylor's 3 match suspension, we could barely field a fit forward of any description.
We lost ground for much of that winter. It was the return to more or less a full strength squad that propelled our late run to promotion.

Great managers make a team more than the sum of its parts and make average players better players; do you think that when you look at our current team?
We can't pin the future of our football club and the foundations of a (hopefully) exciting project to restore it to greatness on a manager with no actual evidence that he is capable of delivering.
So where is the evidence that LB has the necessary skills to not only turn this around, but propel our club up the leagues where he will face much stiffer challenges?
It simply doesn't exist; it is only due to loyalty that we are stuck with a leader incapable of leading.
At the start of last season he had 2 players (some of them no where near championship quality) for each position, he used the same system for 2 years. Everyone was comfortable playing it. Even when we fielded u23 teams at Swansea and Derby we played much better than we had any right to. We should have got hammered.
I have no idea what happened in January 2020 that's still having an effect on him.
Even the basics of playing players in their correct positions, or even actually knowing what their correct positions are seems to have gone out the window. I think it's only Amos, Pearce, Famewo and Stockley that have played in 1 position this season.
What's our identity, what's our formation, what's our style of play? What's our best team? For 2 years it was obvious, since then I don't know and I don't think Bowyer does either.
Matches have come & gone with less than positive progress, hence the question remains the same....3 -

Powell again, no from me. He played crap football towards the end and was negative like Lee has been, I don't think he's the right man even though I would want him to be.
Cowleys, why? Got promoted from league 2 and then jumped ship to Huddersfield, did dreadful and got sacked. Their fans said the football was as bad as when they had Powell from what I saw.
Only one I've seen that wouldn't be bad is Cook but even then I'm not sure.
If Lee goes I would like Curbs again, I think he still has it.His work record the last 10 years?
When we sacked Peeters he said on sky sports if Charlton want him they can go and talk to him but said he reckons we had someone lined up which Roland did
New ownership, no longer a basket case. I think if he was approached he would say yes
Some Blades fans feel Wilder is underachieving. Would gladly have him here...

This is the crux isn’t it. There is no hint of progress or the feeling that something is building. None whatsoever. We get odd spells of half decent football for half a game at best and then we’re back to looking awful. No tried and trusted system and players dropped or rotated for quite often baffling reasons or no reason at all. The manager and the football has become dour and repressed. I still genuinely think that Bowyer is safe until the end of the season but TS will need to see something between now and then to give him some encouragement that Bowyer is up to the job. If things stay as they are, drifting between poor and mediocre and TS doesn’t call a halt then we need to start asking questions of him and his ambition too. It is telling that I asked the question a couple of weeks ago for people to tell me what he is actually good at, given that he appears to be deficient in tactics, training and man-management. I am still waiting.

Like Stoke Hiddersfield were in terrible trouble when the Cowleys arrived - they kept them up! They were sacked as the owner wanted a new playing style not because they did terribly.killerandflash said:The Cowleys achieved 18th place with Huddersfield last season

id like the Salford manager Richie Wellen’s in. He has Swindon playing great last season and has come Salford back on track this season

Both Wilder and Howe have proved brilliant at taking unfancied players from L1 and the Championship and turning them into PL playersagim said:

Both struggled more though in the transfer market once in the PL, a lot of their bigger buys have flopped3 -

I know something about this. They bought the Cowleys in just to keep them up, although they didn't tell them that. It's ruthless but not ethically great.Maccn05 said:

The medium term was always a foreign "coach".
Bowyer was never going to Huddersfield even if he had an interview.2
