Has Bowyer lost it?

I hope he speaks to the players with a bit more enthusiasm. Embarassing post match interview.1

Good point - we need to freshen up our excuses as they're getting a bit stale. Hopefully LB will work on this for Tuesday - change of temperature might be an issue?se9addick said:
Last week it was “we’re unlucky because we were playing Gillingham, world renowned purveyors of worldy goals”, this week it’s “we’re unlucky because it was a bit windy”.Callumcafc said:What I will say is that niggly matches like the one today surely can’t have changes many minds. There are plenty of teams who would’ve gone to Fleetwood today in those conditions and struggled to dominate the game.
If you were Bowyer out before, you didn’t see enough to be swayed. If you were in the wait and see camp, you’re likely to look at the point gained in the playing conditions and think “ok take it and move on”.
Our away results have been good of late (MK, Rochdale, Bristol R). The results we need to address are at home. Big questions will be asked if we don’t beat Burton in midweek I suspect. The excuses are becoming rather more desperate week on week.0 -
It's sad he needs to go, but it won't turn round with him here.
I don't believe we wouldn't be better off with someone coming in with some fresh ideas and energy.2 -
I drew that comparison months ago, Bowyer has said things akin to "I'll pick my best team from now on" more than once and got a free pass.ricky_otto said:
Thing is we will scrape an unconvincing 2-1 win, paper over the cracks and he gets another crack of the whip. This is starting to remind me of the back end of Pardew’s tenure. He too stood there on the touch line looking absolutely lost.SouthWest_Addicks said:We play bottom of the league Burton at home on Tuesday. If there ever was a match which we must win. This has got to be it for Bowyer.0 -
Can't believe I'm defending Bowyer here, but to be fair to him,, those Valley Pass interviews are literally 5 minutes after the final whistle. It's hard to feel upbeat straight after that performance!SamB09 said:I hope he speaks to the players with a bit more enthusiasm. Embarassing post match interview.3 -
Another thing Lee give the players a day off after a bloody game. They don't need to listen to your droning voice after a defeat and 5 hour coach journey .1

Give the job to Chris Powell everyone would be chuffed, we still won’t go up, but, I’d have money on promotion next season.
I honestly can’t say the same is likely with Bow left in charge.

Have you suggested this to Lee? It could be a factor - I believe RD employed a witch to put a curse on the players...se9addick said:

Because it's better off the pitch, we should accept it being worse on it? Weird.Bow and Gallen are building a team. No point in sacking him before he’s had time to work with the new players. The time to review it is the end of the season.

Going to cost a small fortune to get rid of though, as Southall gave a lucrative and long contract, even though he didn't have it to give.1

Don't forget Aneke out of contract.0

Can’t see Thomas sacking Bowyer anytime soon, I think he will review at the end of the season and see where things are. The club needs stability and making a change so quickly will not benefit anyone! Like many id be tempted to change but who realistically would we get in now to change anything?2

The best bet now would be a caretaker from within which would give time to consider a replacement if it didn't work out. But we have to change the mood music. There are too many games to go with a decent squad for us to just let this season go.0

This is a great a point and when you hear bowyer talking about other sides building teams over years, really makes you think what he is going on about.Cafc43v3r said:

As silly as it sounds I think Powell might be the only realistic option out of these. I think the Cowleys and Cook might wait for a championship job.Todds_right_hook said:

Would be great to know just who would be interested in the Charlton job when it does become available0

I’d have Chris Powell back in a heartbeat. Now that’s a manager who can get talented players running through brick walls for them and bought into a unified vision. I also think he’d be the sort of bloke Sandgaard would get on well with.
I know things didn’t work out with Huddersfield/Southend, but I do believe that sometimes certain managers/clubs just fit together.8 -
I’m confident he’ll be back at some point. Goes without saying there’s a lot of unfinished business.cafctom said:I’d have Chris Powell back in a heartbeat. Maybe Powell would be a good option in a temporary capacity. Extend if it goes well.1
-
First big test for the owner.
Personally, I’m very much Bowyer in, but ultimately the decision within the next two weeks is either a big rebuild in the summer with Bowyer in charge or change manager and make a last push for promotion.
Time will tell.2 -
If we'd got in earlier, Mick McCarthy might have been interested...5

I don't think he'd accept that as he seems happy where he is at the Spurs academy. Able to pass on his knowledge in a low pressure environment, with time for a bit of media workMuttleyCAFC said:Maybe Powell would be a good option in a temporary capacity. Extend if it goes well.4 -
I think promotion is gone for this year - but I would word it as get a manager in now so they can hit the ground running with the summer rebuild.SurvivaloftheFittest said:First big test for the owner.

Exactly what we did with Powell.7
