Has Bowyer lost it?

It's a very good record considering we just got relegated.
But with the mood on the board at the moment, you could post a picture of Aneke holding a bunch of roses and it would end up getting twisted against LB somehow.12 -

Let’s look at his win ratio in the last 1 game(s)... it’s 0%... he must goBowyer should be looking at these stats and go back to what he did in the first 65 games. As a guess, I would say bowyer has a win rate of less than 30% since Wembley and around 50% before that. That’s a massive drop.
Do you think a win rate of 30% is good enough?1 -
Which leads me to laugh at you lot calling for him to go! Talking of Lee learning from lessons, we as fans need to learn.....we got what we wished for when Curbs left....look where that got us.......carly burn said:

who wished for curbs to go? I know so called Charlton supporters who have not stepped foot inside the valley since relegation from the prem. from memory, these were the people who wanted curbs out, not the die hardest who still follow the club now.cafc_se7 said:

Since October 19 2020 its 18 wins in 62 so take it back 3 games and it's 19 wins in 65.Todds_right_hook said:

Because clubs have a natural level due to their level of support and income, meaning that in the PL we are a small club and in L1 a big club.SuedeAdidas said:

We are in div 3 with a div 3 squad....as are the other teams.
I don't see (generally) why it is easier to win in Div 3 with a Div 3 squad - than it would be to win in the Premier with a Premier squad?!?
When we were in the PL under Curbs (and even more so in the Div 1 days under Lennie) we were a small club. Man U, Chelsea etc all had far bigger budgets than us, so naturally the win ratio goes down.
Conversely in L1 we are a big club, as we have higher support and income that most of the other clubs, hence the win ratio should go up. Accrington's ground hold 5500 fans in total, we have stands bigger than that.1 -

we are clearly a bigger fish in the third tier than in the Championship or top flight
we’ve never been relegated from the third tier
and been promoted from it within 3 seasons maximum on the 5 times we got relegated in to it after first achieving promotion from it in 1929

What a surprise that his win rate has deteriorated so much after of a season of competing in the Championship with a weaker squad than he had in League 1.Todds_right_hook said:

His win rate was 56% in the Wembley season, compared to 43% this season. That's a relevant comparison. Comparing his win rate in League 1 with his win rate in the Championship is not. Any manager will look bad if you assess him that way.10 -

Win ratios only tell half the story , Lennie Lawrence is well down the table but he performed miracles getting Charlton in the top flight.12

okay, compare this season with the last league 1 season and a drop of 13% is a significant drop.MrLargo said:

Now this table proves without a shadow of a doubt that Nelson was a better manager than Curbishley and significantly better than Lennie Lawrence. Facts I tell you, facts.charltonnick said:Win ratios only tell half the story , Lennie Lawrence is well down the table but he performed miracles getting Charlton in the top flight.

If people don’t realise now what a god Curbishley is then they’re not worth the typing off my fingers .
I warned everyone it was all over when he left and top flight football would become a distant memory .
Lennie , Curbs and Seed can be mentioned in the same managerial breath but these others aren’t fit to wipe the snot off their noses when it comes to football management .9 -
Yep. People said he'd taken us as far as he could and that we should get someone to take us to the next level. I suppose we did, in a way! The next level down. And then the next one after that.oohaahmortimer said:If people don’t realise now what a god Curbishley is then they’re not worth the typing off my fingers .

12 wins out of 28 games... isn’t great... Sunderland have 11 wins and are head of us.Let’s do what they do and sack manager after manager1 -
A lot of owners would have given there manager the sack by now, perhaps Thomas might not be that sort of owner,I just hope Thomas is right because if we don't go up it could be harder next season0

I was one that was fed up with this '40 point and we're safe' rhetoric. As Graham Stewart himself said maybe Curbs should of started saying 'right lads this season 50 points minimum' and so on.
Just wished that instead of giving that money to Dowie to spend we gave it to Curbs, think that might of got us to that next level. certainly wouldn't of got us relegated.

I gave up reading this thread, with the same people saying the same things, numerous times every day of every week, but in fairness this is a new angle.MuttleyCAFC said:Blaming Bowyer for our relegation is complex. We can blame him for promotion in the first place, we can blame him for keeping our heads above water through the injuries and we can blame him for being a bit too negative at the death when it turned out we only needed a point.
Lee Bowyer now getting blamed for promotion!11 -

If you're going to troll everyone with your sarcasm every time anyone questions Bowyer on this thread it's going to become even more boring than it already is.esseffect said:Why do you need to see the first 65 and last 65? I think you know what you’re looking for lol

This is a forum for discussing Charlton & this is a thread discussing whether Bowyer has or has not lost 'it' whatever that may be.
Why not add to the discussion with facts or opinions about the subject?
By the way we've had 30 managers since 1920 with recorded stats, of which the best win ratio in all comps is as follows:
If you limit this to those that have played 150 games in all comps (Bowyer's actual tally) the ratio table is as follows:
Or 100 games
Bowyer's win % is falling but is still currently above the vast majority of our managers.11 -
So Karel Fraeye's win ratio (at the same Div 2 level too) is the same as Bob Stokoe's and only slightly worse than Eddie Firmani's! While Guy Luzon's is the 14th best overall...0
