PS..... for those of you who know me on Facebook, please don’t reference me or this on there, TIADA9 said:Now he’s gone (probably permanently eventually) I’m happier than I was originally to reveal that a week into joining us, Maddison contacted my daughter on a dating app and wanted to meet her etc, wisely & luckily (for him) she knocked him back, her words were, she thought he was “fit” 😳 but, he came across as a bit of a knob.
I’m in no way suggesting that had any bearing on Bowyers decision to let him go, but I’m claiming it 😄8 -
So... any room in the cap for a free agent?0

Apparently being pissed off at what looks like bad news and then cheered by good news is a sign of hypocrisy, not a normal reaction.
I'm just sorry we didn't get that Barnsley midfielder over the line.6 -

Decent window and despite the emotional attachment to Williams, it made business sense and Football is a business.
I do think on paper will look stronger and more dynamic but time will tell.1 -

I was on the thread, chief, and what I saw was people who were understandably worried by the shipping out of two players and no sign of any incoming.PeanutsMolloy said:

I don't really get this pleasure in slagging off other fans for daring to voice their opinions and concerns. On a forum.

Nope. I'm just the same. Only ones I notice are ones that are well known.......although I did take note of the lad at QPR who ran Pearce ragged in the 2nd half at their place when we draw 2-2. It seems like a long time since I woke up from the final night of a transfer window with a smile and looking forward to the rest of the season.
Thank heaven for Cawley keeping us dangling - the lack of news on other media nearly allowed me to switch off.Pleased for Williams and hope all goes well for him. I’m not going to miss Maddison. It had already been a good window and just got better right at the end.
We had looked good at the back earlier in the season and have players steadily returning to fitness. We lacked a decisive attack and it looks like SG and LB have focused their attention there.6 -

That's one way of looking at it I suppose. Like you say petulant children every where.Rothko said:

Not signing a defender is a risk but one that has presumably allowed us to bring in players further forward. That's what this cap does... Hard decisions have to be made & I just hope it doesn't come back to bite us0

Which is made worse by the fact that Sandgaard doesn't decide if player valuations are correct. That's Steve Gallen's job. Same thing with Sorba Thomas, clearly we could afford him, but Gallen decided he wasn't worth that amount and we moved on.Rothko said:

All this plus getting totally soaked on their open terrace and getting a parking fine after some bastard told me it would be" ok to park there mate".Also the coldest I have ever been at a match one evening during the Lennie era. They owe us,plus they broke our 12 match winning streak, and we still gave them our jackpot money.addick1956 said:
Good. I haven't recovered from Nicky Bailey and his stupidity against Swindon at the Valley. S stupid pass back with the game in the bag and the new satellite launch from the spot. And the bloody Magic Roundabout near the ground.moutuakilla said:Swindon must bloody hate us5 -

When they ended our run, we were top, they were bottom, we had some money and they were broke, hence funding their youth team with the half-time Jackpot money.thickandthin63 said:

The "bed wetting" was when it looked like we had missed out on Kirk, had still let Williams go and were looking like missing out on Morris. Even if we had got Morris to replace Williams questions would have been asked.
There wasn't even a mention of DJ until about 5 to 11. That was what caused the concern.0 -

Yeah there were posts complaining that Sandgaard wasn't willing to splash out for Randall.Cafc43v3r said:

Excuse my ignorance, but how do these last minute deals work? When and how was a medical done? Swindon's at least 2 hours away. Are there standard contract terms? Any deal involving a 3 year contract usually takes a while to agree all the details.0

they said they were working on it all day so I'm assuming at some point he arrived at Sparrows Lane and was waiting for it all to be done. also, re the medical, Liverpool signed a player from a Club in Germany yesterday, he had his medical in Germany.0 -
We need to distinguish between the deal being finalised near 11, to us approaching Swindon around this time and sending him to Sparrows Lane in a Supa Dupa Jet.0

Take a big bow Bowyer, SG and TS. A huge five player up grade in the window.
That must have been the hardest window ever with the CAP added to the complications. We are so lucky to have the three of them. COYR’s!11 -
Well done the club on what is a decent window in extremely difficult times and circumstances.I’m not one for digging out fans but the reaction prior to the last signing on Twitter and occasionally on here was a bit weird. Deadline day seems to turn grown men into annoying children.28
