    for all that it matters.

For the first time in years, not even bothering to keep up with the score or the result, will probably find out tomorrow morning.

I promised myself the same DA9 but here I am waiting for the match thread as usual to inflict it's misery. Why do we do it????

    is Weaver now fit?

if so, play him - not convinced by Elliot personally

When the team were heckled after the game last Saturday, he was the only one prepared to argue back.
The rest no doubt agreed with the heckler.
    Keep him in.
At least he is up for it.

Reading: Federici; Rosenior, Armstrong; Duberry, Pearce; Little, Matejovsky, Cisse, S Hunt; Doyle, Long.

4-5-1 with ZZ in the hole. Kandol up top on his own.

Soares back so the same midfield 4 that did well as a unit pre-doncaster.

No Shelvey but Dickson back on the bench. Ambrose back as well.

    No Kitson for Reading.

OK, logging off now. Back when we win : - )

ZZ starts in CM and Deadly Deon reduced to the bench.
Soares back in - Sam, Jonjo nowhere.

Dicko on the Bench with Ambrose and DD, Holls And Gandulph

Just two players left from the XI that Pardew started when we beat Reading 4-2 last August ! (That's Bailey and Sam...otherwise nine changes - and to be frank not many of them for the better, IMO).

JonJo does seem out of favour... I was convinced he'd be back and he's not even on the bench.

Anyway, not going to follow it. Going to watch the test match. Windies now five done with 30 odd overs left. Could be a dramatic finish to the series...

Sorry, no Sam. The two I meant are Hudson and Bailey. Otherwise nine changes -that's a pretty astonishing change of personnel in the course of a single season, even given everything that's happened!

Charlton starting XI v Reading, August 2008

    Weaver

    Moots Hudson Fortune Basey

    Sam Bailey Holland Bouazza

    Gray Varney

Charlton starting XI v Reading March 2009

    Elliot

    Butterfield, Hudson, Ward Youga

    Soares, Spring, Racon, Zheng, Bailey

    Kandol

Contrast and compare. Which is the better XI? And if the two sides played each other, what would happen?... (apart from the fact that Hudson and Bailey would get very confused!)
  • hat's a pretty astonishing change of personnel
Not really.. Par for the course this season.. I'm utterly devastated that Butter field is allowed anyway near the pitch considering his performance at the weekend.

In stark contrast to our lack of continuity, by the way, 11 of the 16 Reading players involved against us in August are involved again tonight.

Think those stats say quite a lot...
  • I'll ask it then, any commentary around for tonights game?
  • WTF.. is anyone else gettig some 80's electro over the commentary?

Never mind commentary from the Madjeski. Turn the cricket on - we've got 22 overs to get the last four wkts. Turning into a real nail-biter !!!

Shame the Windies don't need to score any because Gayle and his runner would be nailed on to be run out!
