The players you’ve mentioned here is reason enough for a lack of wins/performances in recent games.Sage said:
I must add, I would have Shinnie and Aneke in the squad.Sage said:If Schwartz comes in before Hull, and has been training with the squad already, we have to ensure we have a midfield who can create enough chances for the front players. Aneke is suspended so would throw Schwartz in.
Maddison was excellent when he came on yesterday and the goal will only give him an extra boost. There is no reason why Bowyer can’t be starting him more often.
Morgan brings us something different, he’s also shown he can work hard and do the other side of the game now too. Start him.
I would love to see a team of something like this:
Maybe even Shinnie starting because a lot of the time, teams can over run our midfield. I think we’re a better team with him in it.
The CB pairing would obviously, ideally, be Inniss and Famewo.
This is all without Doughty, who I think would’ve made a huge difference to us recently, adding in his contribution would likely have seen us top 2 by now.
I know it’s always very unlikely, but if we had no injuries, well long term injuries, we’d have such a proper quality team for this league.Shinnie, Doughty, Inniss, Famewo and an Aneke who could play 90 minutes.2 -
Let's see if this is a start 2 a good career at Charlton FC .0

The point being I would have both Shinnie and Aneke in the squad should they be available. Just as I would Inniss, Famewo, and Doughty.2 -
Hasn’t he got popular very suddenly. Now in everyone’s first team!No argument with that however.
I would not have Williams in the team that started though.0 -
I think people just expected him to hit the ground running what with his previous stats. People neglected the fact that he had played very little football before signing for us. Understandably it’s taken time for him to get up to speed. People also jumped on the poor diet and his love of PlayStation. Some players are a real enigma and he is one of them.Redrobo said:Hasn’t he got popular very suddenly. Now in everyone’s first team!No argument with that however.

I just hope Bowyer gives him a good run in the side - not sure that rotating him will do any good. He is clearly a confidence player, so even if he has a bad game or 2 it is well worth leaving him on the pitch as he is the one player we have that can turn a game on his own. Would like to see him on all the attacking dead ball situations.6 -
Yeah, surely he should be nailed on to take direct free kicks just outside the box?ricky_otto said:

He's a direct goal threat from set pieces.
Much more clinical, I feel, than JFC.

Thanks for the time you were here Marcus.Hope your January move to a new club works out for you.2

I can see where you are coming from. The second half of today’s game cried out for someone who would grab hold of the ball and do something special to win us a point. That was Maddison, not Williams. Lee must really have a problem with Marcus to not play him in a team of clueless, no hopers. Shame, cos I hoped he would come good for us but he hasn’t been given a chance tbf.MrOneLung said:Thanks for the time you were here Marcus.Hope your January move to a new club works out for you.7 -
Every right to be pissed off, ridiculous that he didn't start and even more so that he didn't come on (before Pratley was sent off).18

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Maddison has scored one goal so far, albeit a cracker.

Quite difficult to score sitting on the bench mind.wmcf123 said:Correct me if I’m wrong, but Maddison has scored one goal so far, albeit a cracker.26 -
2 goals and a direct assist actually.wmcf123 said:Correct me if I’m wrong, but Maddison has scored one goal so far, albeit a cracker.
Nevermind actually creating plenty of other chances, and being the 'assist for the assist' player whilst generally being forward thinking when he is on the ball.
All whilst barely getting any minutes.9 -
Can’t blame him tbf. How he ain’t starting is beyond me.21

Struggling to get my head around what Bowyer expected from Maddison. He's not going to pull up trees in training, he's not going to bust a gut tracking back - he's a free spirit that wants to attack, create and score goals.
There is absolutely nothing surprising about the above based on his previous seasons. We knew what we were getting.
Statistically one of the best attacking players at this level in the last decade. How can he not get into this team?
And if he can't get into this team, why on God's Earth are we spending money on his wages?
Thus far, a total waste. He has to start on Friday.12 -

I think Bowyer saw the pitch and decided you couldn't play football on it. He then decided this wasn't Maddison's game. That being said, I said straight away Maddison wouldn't be Bowyer's choice because he likes players to work hard, track back etc and Maddison just isn't that type of player.0

He has a pointguinnessaddick said:10 -
LB keeps talking about how he is getting a workrate out of Maddison that other managers haven't even dreamed of, and I'm pretty sure he's also said he's a good trainer so let's not presume it's Marcus's fault he didn't start. Especially not while the manager is making X amount of other baffling starting 11 decisions at the same time.2

Mystifying that he didn't play today.
One of the only creative players that we have. No wonder we were crap. Again.6 -
Have to laugh, he's upset more Hull fans than Charlton fans with that pos8

I think we’re being a bit precious here. I read this as a player who’s had previous bad experiences at Hull probably similar to today. Clearly he won’t be pleased not play ( and I think we can all agree he should have ) but I don’t view that as criticising Bowyer.8

Agreed, think it's just a laugh, mostly at the expense of Hull. Think MM's infamous "attitude" leads us to jump to conclusions whatever he does.ForeverAddickted said:
