Not January yet but Etienne Capoue has left Watford and gone to Villarreal for an undisclosed fee

Interesting one because he started the season injured but has played 11 games for Watford this season, so he has been playing but obviously with the new manager he was deemed not needed

He started their last 2 matches though, so it's not as if he was completely out of favour with the new boss

He should have stayed as Watford will change manager again soon.

Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac is joining Schalke on loan for the rest of the season after Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said offloading players was the January transfer window "priority".

Bosnia-Herzegovina left-back Kolasinac, 27, began his career with the German side before moving to Arsenal in 2017.

Can't have done. I keep being told that no-one can be signed until Jan 4th.

(Waits for someone to tell me that it's just the registration that can't be activated until the 4th)

I knowwwwww. So why haven't we done the same with Schwartz. I keep being told it's a done deal & we're just waiting for the EFL to open, but other clubs don't seem to have a problem announcing "done deals".

Maybe we have. It’s always been the way at Charlton that deals get announced move everything is officially completed, including all the routine paperwork. Just because no one has personally called you to tell you the deal is done doesn’t mean it isn’t.

Surely the Lingard contract extension is just so they can sell him rather than lose him on a free in the summer.
But who wants to buy him? Especially for £100k a week!

There's always someone prepared to pay top dollar for bang average top flight players it seems.

Aston Villa and Newcastle have always loved an o er priced bang average player

Clubs also tend to loan players out for a fee these days... Peterborough Chairman was moaning that League One clubs should take a stand against it by refusing to sign any Premier League players on loan if thats their intention

Man Utd can probably get a million or two from someone like Sheffield United this window alone for loaning him

Lingard is the type of player that will go to Palace if Zaha is sold.
He scored a lovely goal against them to win the 2016 FA Cup.

Oh I know, he just fits their ilk of slightly questionable signings for large fees. Only one recently that I thought looked good was Ebe Eze the young QPR attacking midfielder.

and he scored for Derby against us when he was a 'very promising' young red out on loan .. and (I think) Darren Bent scored another against us in the same game

Not a new signing but you've got to laugh really.

Manchester United have activated England midfielder Jesse Lingard's one-year option and the 28-year-old's contract now runs until the summer of 2022.

So despite not playing at all this season, he gets another year on his 100k a week contract.
Why can't Jesse Lingaard come on loan to Charlton, when Levitt goes back?

Fair exchange .... and we could offer Man Utd the £1,300pw we were paying towards Levitt.

    See, Simple.

Think Lingard scored Brightons first in a 3 - 0 drubbing down there a few years back. Remember Poyet apologising to the fans for his performance, even though he went on to win our poty. Nice touch.

Watford have signed Danish winger Philip Zinckernagel on a five-and-a-half year contract.

He joins on a free transfer from Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt and officially begins his deal when the transfer window opens on 2 January.
