It wasn’t to be tonight. WIth fans back at the Valley, it would have been nice to have a performance to match the enthusiasm, but MKDons were enough to take the three points.
I don’t think we were as bad as the match thread suggests, but we certainly have a lot of room for improvement based on tonight’s showing. On another night, one of Prattley’s chances would have gone in and we’d have salvaged a bit of dignity.
I think we would have benefitted with starting Chuks and getting off to a better start.

Very predictable.
Shame Pratley hit the bar from a chance he might have attempted to be too cute with.
We miss Doughty's attacking spark as it leads to goals or assists.
Bow's and Jacko have to get rid of this inconsistency in effort, structure and quality. It's becoming a habit.
It's a long, old, weird season.

I’m angry after that performance. Bowyer doesn’t know how to line a side up without pace, which is ironic as we’ve got one of the most immobile squads in the division.
I think top 6 (maximum) is it for us this season unless we can do good business in January. Unsurprisingly we need pace up top.
We are crying out for a mobile CDM. Watching Pratley and Watson is fine in games where we dominate the ball. Watching them chase shadows and get dispossessed by a superior midfield is just depressing.
It’s a squad with a lot of good names, but one that’s not very cohesive and lacks the attacking threat required to take us up automatically.
On a final note, Gilbey has been so disappointing thus far. I was expecting big things and got a slightly more technical Christophe Lepoint instead.

Could've stolen a draw at the end but that was a bad performance over the 90. MK could've had 4-5 and were better in every department. Outplayed us.I lost count of the amount of times they just walked through our midfield. Just waltzed through 2 ""challenges"" and drove into space.LB offered no answer for their formation, they run rings around us and constantly had men over.Attacking wise we got shown up for the lack of fluidity that's been there all season. We have been expecting that to improve, when is that going to happen? They still look like strangers. The lack of anticipation of the coming pass, cross or flick-on is infuriating. They react to where the ball goes, they don't anticipate. And opportunities pass them by.No complaints about the result from me. Really poor.20

Outplayed for the second time in a week by a team from the bottom of the table. Without Chuks starting we had no goal threat. Ironically the last 20 minutes with Chuks on we looked the better side and that is when they scored. But reslly we deserved nothing from the game. Only bright spot , it was Maddison's best performance for us. Onwards and upwards.

@Croydon - Mate, his inability to go forwards is ridiculous. Right at the end, either cross it or play it back, he hesitates and loses the ball.
His primary job is that of a defender though, he's no different to Gunter who wont advance forward very often, certainly wouldn't have him as a Wing-Back... Regardless though, for all his "inability to go forward" he was still one of the few who didnt put a foot wrong whenever MK Dons had the ball, so did his primary job!!4 -

The fans are back in so let's put on a shit show for them. So very Charlton. Out thought and out fought all game and MK played some lovely stuff at times. Never got a grip on Fraser and only Amos kept it respectable. One positive is that Maddison looked very lively when he came on. Not that it will stop some people slagging him off still!
