So after Tranmere beat Brackley past night to be the first team into round 3 there were another 9 matches today

    Regarding non league teams:

Solihull Moors took Morecambe to Extra time before eventually losing 4-2

Kings Lynn were taught a lesson by Portsmouth losing 6-1

A couple of League 2 teams beat League 1 teams:

    Exeter beat Gillingham
    Cheltenham beat Crewe

And one League 1 team beat a league 2 team

    Blackpool beat Harrogate

The rest of the matches were teams in the same league playing each other:

    Newport beat Salford
    Oldham beat Bradford
    Plymouth beat Lincoln

One match still on going and it would be a big shock with a few minutes remaining Chorley are beating a strong Peterborough side 2-1, Peterborough made just 1 change from their last league game Mo Eisa came in for Clarke Harris, other than that its the same side that beat Plymouth

Chorley win 2-1 and knock out a full strength Peterborough to qualify for the 3rd round for the first time

    Class goal from Reeves today

Be curious to know how weakened that Peterborough team was

I was watching the Pompey-King's Lynn match this afternoon as well as the Charlton game.

Pompey scored some good goals but Lynn created quite a few chances; with a bit more luck at both ends they could have gone in at HT level which may have made the second half interesting.

6-1 was a flattering scoreline to Pompey and harsh on Lynn.

Haha... We'd have faced Huddersfield had we reached the third round

That's exactly what the non-League clubs dream about.

And why it always used to be said, The magic of the Cup".

Huddersfield curse follows us around even after we’ve been knocked out.

I absolutely love the Marine v Spurs draw. That’s a fairytale.

Plymouth v Huddersfield. So had we beaten the Pilgrims, and whoever they beat in round 2  we'd be looking at a trip to Huddersfield in round 3. Spine tingling stuff, the magic goes on.

Millwall get their typical non league opposition. Another deep cup run for them I fear.

    From the BBC

National League North side Chorley will host Wayne Rooney's Derby, while holders Arsenal host Newcastle.

It's silly but there is logic behind it. The FA Cup ball numbers follow the draw of the previous round(s) so had we won in round one and round two, we'd have played Lincoln in round 2 and Huddersfield in round 3. Glamorous. It also means we'd have been ball number 1 in round four if we were to have made it that far.

I mean that's logical and hard to argue with. So many tiny things could have meant we got a different draw even if we were the same number though surely? If Robbie Savage took 0.5 seconds longer swishing his hand around we may have got someone else.... This is the sort of  pointless discussion i enjoy.

Have you never heard of the butterfly effect? Us beating either Plymouth or hypothetically Lincoln, could have some how had an impact on those other game. Unlikely, but not impossible.

Great draw for Morecambe, away at Chelsea but won't be the same in front of just 2000 fans

I see he got an assist for the 2nd goal. Did anybody watch the game? I think we may go back for him in Jan.
