Remember reading a story about how on the night of either the 66 World Cup or 68 European Cup (can't remember which), he was at the celebration dinner, went to the loo, went back to the wrong room, and was so short sighted he didn't realise he wasn't with the team for about 20mins.

Ate someone else's dinner, and a few fans got a surprise sitting with Nobby Styles until a couple of the other players rescued him.

There was a glowing tribute for Mark Lawrenson on BBC5 last night. In a reserve match, Nobby turned him from a hopeless left winger to a centre-back and the rest, as they say, is history.

Very sad news, a proper footballer, hard as nails and when, in my opinion, football was not the Namby Pamby game it is now. No theatrics where footballers fall over as though they've been shot when anyone comes within 2 feet of them!! Nobby was the real deal, RIP sir, and thank you!
