I know 2020 has been a very difficult year, and most of all because being able to watch live football and our beloved Charlton has been taken away from us!
What if I said you could watch competitive football in SE7 this saturday!? For just £6 you can watch the SCEFL first division fixture between Bridon Ropes and Lewisham Borough FC. @Meridian Sports Ground SE7 8QS
Some of you may have heard of Bridon Ropes FC before, who play in the 10th tier of English football. Winning their first ever game in the FA Cup last year.
It is also worth noting the committee of the team are all lifelong Charlton fans and are down at the Valley if their games ever get postponed.
Times are tough for teams in the lower leagues right now and we would really appreciate any support. Bridon normally are near the top of the league but are having a slow start this time round so it would he great if we could get some more fans down!

I can't go as I won't be allowed more than 1km from my home as from tomorrow!
Out of curiosity:
Where is Bridon?
Do they manufacture ropes?0 -

They renamed to Bridon Ropes in 1990, following changes in company name and ownership.

Bridon Ropes is still going, in high tech ropes and cables,

Quite an appealing history that!

Planning to make a visit soon - but am waiting for the local derby fixture against Meridian VP.0

I watched Bridon Ropes the day of our home 0-0 draw with Fleetwood. Whilst walking out of the ground you could hear the boos when the whistle went at The Valley! I guessed we had not won.

My dad was groundsman at British Ropes and had to look after the football pitch they had within the factory grounds at Anchor & Hope Lane. During Theo Foley's time as manager, Charlton used the pitch a few times for training when their training pitch was flooded. I used to send poor old Dad to work with a camera so he could get photos of my heart throb Bob Curtis! Happy memories.2
