Thought Crewe were a decent outfit, just need a better ball into the box. They are not on their own with that though!0 -
Amos: 7 - made a fantastic save in the second half to keep things comfortable.
Lapslie: 6 - Not awful but ran around like a headless chicken. Taken off for Williams mid second half.
Barker: 8 - Looks like a veteran already, really comfortable.
Oshilaja: 7 - Decent performance, part of a strong back line, seems like he'll be more of a leader this season.
Purrington: 6 - Barely noticed him tbh but looked reasonable when in the game.
Pratley: 7.5 - You know what you're getting. Solid performance. Worked well with Deji at the back.
Forster-Caskey: 6.5 - Thought he panicked and gave the ball away a bit but worked hard to win it back.
Gilbey: 7.5 - Fit in nicely. Could cement a place in midfield.
Doughty: 8 - Brilliant, as fun as usual on the ball and took his goal well. A game changer in League One.
Bonne: 6.5 - Worked his balls off at the top but to not much avail.
Washington: 8 - Really good. Hard working too, tracked back on multiple occasions and i think his quality will translate to goals at this level (like today!).
Williams: 6.5 - OK off the bench.

Forster-Caskey: 5.5 flattered to deceive today, gets caught on the ball too much to play at the base of the midfield 3, prefer him slightly further forward.
Gilbey: 7.5 looks an excellent signing, creative and box to box.
Doughty: 7.5 such a threat on the counter, was beating players for fun and scored a lovely goal. Must improve his decision making but that will come in time.
Bonne: 6 worked hard but nothing really came off for him. Needs to hold the ball up better.
Washington: 7.5 very quick and bloody hell does he work hard.

Lapslie: 5.5 - Just ran around a lot but didn't achieve much and hardly touched the ball.
Barker: 7 - Did well though he didn't stop the cross enough and now I'm apparently judging him like he's not a 17 year old center back playing right back who until two weeks ago hadn't played above U18 level but a normal pro which is harsh. Great job young man.
Oshilaja: - 7 Great assist for the goal. Solid at the back.
Purrington: 7.5 - Good LB at this level.
Pratley: - 7 Solid if unspectacular, not booked.
Forster-Caskey: 7 - Not his best game but he shows for the ball everywhere. He is going to be so important in that deep lying role. When he gets the ball, we keep the ball.
Gilbey: 7.5 - Also shows everywhere and a lovely display from him. Signing.
Doughty: 7.5 - We need to keep him fit as he's currently our only real outlet but great goal and always looked dangerous.
Bonne: - 6.5 - Worked hard but his hold up play isn't the best.
Washington: 7 - Did his doggies, hassled and harried. Must be a nightmare to play against. And he chipped in with a goal. Can't see him scoring a lot so getting off the mark is really important.
Williams: 6.5 - Came on. Worked hard. Ball stuck to him. Pressed their midfield higher up the pitch. Did everything asked of him.
Referee: 6 - A moment where he should have booked a Crewe player for a shirt pull and a Pratley takedown aside a decent game.
