Winning back the fans - Mascot Edition

Every time the ownership changes there are requests like the tweet below to change back the mascots to Floyd and Harvey.

Now I know the majority will not give a flying fudge, but is this something which would have some sort of no more RD symbolism?

Ultimately do lifers have a preference?

Personally Floyd and Harvey are more Charlton for me because they were mascots when I started supporting the club.

I have in the past and would in he future be in full support of any move to return Floyd and Harvey to their rightful position

Sir Valiant and the coked up Robin are symbols of the shite we've had on recent years. Bring back Floyd and Harvey!

The mascot should be someone dressed up as a fishmonger with a haddock on a stick.

    End of.

That or just a haddock on its own flopping around the pitch.

I think this choice should go to a vote by junior reds (or whatever they are called these days).
  • The new mascots are garbage and remind me of the dreadful reign of RD and KM. Get rid!

What was the relevance of a dog and a cat to Charlton in the first place?

Ask the Junior Reds what they want. Who knows they might not like mascots from years ago.

Floyd, Harvey and Asterix will do.
  • Dislike mascots
    Dislike goal music
    Dislike forced atmosphere

I want a marching military band and if kids want to be entertained, a fish nailed to a stick should suffice. They can see it as they get passed over the crowd to the front.

Never tire of this one ...

Proper mascot and proper legend - everything good about Charlton rolled into one.

Children don't know what they want, let the adults decide!

I think you'll find that the Junior Reds chose the Robin and Knight

They had their chance, time to go back to a better time

Worth a watch for a little insight into the perception of our current mascots from a neutral (skip to 2.36 for that bit in particular)

The good news is there seems to be a ready-made replacement.

He's also called Chris, has a long association with the club, and doesn't appear to be doing too much these days.

The clincher for the deal is that he's a similar height to the matchday mascots walking out with the team ...

I'd put him in the Robin outfit and let Floyd and Harvey kick the proverbial out of him. Now that would be brilliant half time entertainment!
