The man who directed such favourites as The Commitments, Bugsy Malone, Mississippi Burning, Midnight Express and Birdy has died, aged 76.
I have never been a massive fan of musicals, but Bugsy Malone is a film I can watch any time.

Fantastic director, so many good films. Angel Heart is my all time favourite - there's so much in there that you only pick up on a second or third viewing.
