Bournemouth & Villa must be hoping Man City score a few tonight to dent Watford's GD.
Both of them will have a chance of survival on Saturday, especially if Watford take a hammering in the second half...
Neither have a chance of survival on Saturday haha

    Sunday they do tho lol

    Sorry 🤣🤣

I have a Villa mate so I hope they stay up for him. I actually think they deserve to based on performances compared to the others down there.

In a normal world pre covid,  how good would it be if we could stay up. Trips to Bournemouth,  Norwich, Watford, Coventry and Wycombe whilst losing arduous trips potentially to Hull, Barnsley, Wigan and Leeds. Sigh.

Worst team lineup announcement award goes to Arsenal

  • 29 goals for Sterling this season, most of any player in the country. Improved his tally every single season under Guardiola.

I see Arsenal have Matthew Smith on the bench

No, not Doctor Who, not the Millwall one, not the super-duper one we loaned, but another one!

Even a defeat for Villa isnt the end of the world

If they lose today Villa and Bournemouth will be 3 points behind Watford

    Villa play West Ham
    Bournemouth play Everton
    Watford play Arsenal

So as long as Villas goal differene don't take to much of a hit tonight then there is still a chance of survival going into Saturday even with defeat tonight

    Great win for Villa

Means they just need a point against West Ham to survive now if Watford lose to Arsenal

Massive win for Villa. Good timing to face an Arsenal side after their semi final win, and with nothing much to play for. Can Watford do the same on Sunday?

Eh? - All depends on what Watford now achieve against Arsenal surely?

If Watford win then Aston Villa have to win

Bournemouth need to win and hope both Watford and Villa lose.
  • 7 points from 3 games for Villa when it really matters and now have a great chance of staying up.

Bizarrely they could still go down despite winning (if Watford win by more) or stay up even if they lose (if Watford lose by the same amount or more).

However if they both lose, then Bournemouth will stay up if they win at Everton.

That is indeed correct. If Villa win then Watford will have to win by three against Arsenal. But if they both lose and Bournemouth win then they will both go down.

You just wonder how much significance that extra point they got against Sheffield United when goal line technology didn't work may play in there survival now

That's true. Or had that Nketiah header been an inch or two further inside the post!

Reckon Watford might sue Hawkeye if that happens.

Middlesbrough deducted 3 points for failing to fulfil a fixture against Blackburn Rovers

Who remembers '96-'97 when 7 clubs were separated by 3 points and Middlesbrough only going down because of their 3 point deduction?

That season there were 41 points between the Champions, United and Forest in last place. Last season the gap between the top and bottom was 82 points. Such has the gap grown.

    Runners up with 68 points!

The last 3 seasons, 70 hasn't even been enough for 4th. In 16-17, Arsenal got 75 and were 5th.

United false dawn. Said it before.

They played some proper shit teams in that little run. Been totally outplayed by West Ham so far.

I think if Bournemouth win today they’ll be safe, as I fancy both Watford and Villa to lose, but I don’t think they will.

I can imagine it ending up as one of those scenarios where the team in the worst position at the start of the day, that team that need the most results to go for them will have all the results go their way but then fail to do the job themselves.
