Charlton v Millwall | Fri 03 Jul 2020| Post-match thread

Not enough tonight. We don’t have enough up front.

Probably deserved a point on balance. After a poor first half, we looked much better in the second. But this exposes our weaknesses in the final third. Our momentum has been blunted, but only if we let it.

Do yourself a favour and don’t dwell on it. Move on!

Over to you.

Just poor. No one has the balls for a decent shot and Dillion always has a mistake in him.

Thought we looked better after Chuks came on. But what right did Cooper have being there? Just didn’t want it enough tonight.

Terrible result and disappointing to lose to them again

    But its not over yet

    Reading
    Birmingham
    Wigan

All games we can get points from, we still have a great chance to survive we just need to keep the faith and believe

Awful performance, need to improve a lot in the remaining games. Genuinely don't see where the goals are gonna come from as we look lethargic and lacking ideas going forward.

    Gonna get smashed by Brentford.

I vowed to never mention him again, but Lyle Taylor is a fucking snake.

Posted this on the match thread just before it was closed ...

    Let's face facts folks:

We could be having a season that makes Liverpools Premier League-winning campaign look like a mid-table effort and we'd still lose both games to these ****s.

Millwall just a bit less shit than we were and the quality of the goal showed it.

Cullen was crap and that means we usually are crap.

Just sick of this fixture, I know what’s gonna happen but it still pisses me off massively.

Matthews and Pratley were class. Rest can fuck off, Brentford will have a field day next week.

Cannot believe the lack of football intelligence our teams possess. Goal kicks played to Pratley on the edge of our box, our choice of pass, dwelling on the ball, lumping it in the box when you’ve brought on Doughty and Williams. Just really really fucking thick.

    Not looking good.

I really don't really give a toss that it was M***wall.  It's the points dropped and losing the clean sheet that matters

Other than the first 5 mins that was absolutely shit. Deserved what we got.
  • We deserved 0-0, no more but no less. Millwall were a decent side that are difficult to play against. I think we stick with keeping it tight and trying to nick goals. We didn’t do a lot wrong tonight.

Strikers who can't hit the ball hard.  How has Hemed made a career at the top of football so.long, he is slow and has a sponge foot.  I could have scored in that game.

Nothing to do with a bottle job as some people seem to think,we had plenty of the play but have absolutely no goal threat whatsoever,Dillon made a very rare error and it cost us,cannot dwell on this .

The cardboard cutouts were on the pitch, not the covered end.
First five minutes got my hopes up. Should have known better.
  • Poor game with 2 poor sides. We could've won it had we taken our chances, but fairly inevitably Millwall nick it and no one is at all surprised.

7 points from 3 games was a great start. But 7 points from 5 games after Brentford will leave us bang in trouble.

We'd stay up with Taylor, but the other forwards are shite and letting us down.

The game was fairly even if you take a step back and run your finger down the stat line. They took one of their chances, we couldn’t score for toffee.

Unfortunately our newly stellar defence is being sorely let down by bang average attacking options.
Millwall clearly identified Morgan as the key passer for us... took him out of the game and we became even more toothless

Was a pretty sluggish end2end game, felt neither side deserved a point tonight!!

Frustrating as we started the game passing it about and got through Millwall, they got the ball, kept it so we resorted to copying them rather than calming ourselves down on the ball

Need to find a goal, a bit of luck from somewhere

I thought Wigan were top of the current form table, being a bit optimistic there

Just not sure where the goals are going to come from to keep us up......

As for tonight - expected nothing less.  We move on.

When was the last time a non-Taylor striker scored for us? Was it Davison?
