I'm not sure if I'm getting the wrong end of the stick from what you intend.......but he wouldn't be able to play again now until the start of next season surely??PrincessFiona said:0

Yeah he can move clubs after his contract expires but he can’t play for the new team until next seasonSuedeAdidas said:

No, he can't. I am saying he has reduced our overall capability and we could get relgated - he is therefore benefitting our relegation rivals.Let alone letting his team mates down. And not fulfilling his contractSuedeAdidas said:

I think have seen how much criticism Lyle has got from the wider football community and not just Charlton, if managers from other clubs haven't had the conversation yet like Monk when they do I dont think there will be many refusing to play lol.
I don't think anyone could have imagined how widespread the criticism for Taylor would become and ither players will have seen that and may think hmmm lets just play on lol(unless they alreay have a club lined up and even then they will probably at least see out there contract)0

It might be quite a different scenario for him IF he doesn't already have his next move already sorted.paulie8290 said:I think have seen how much criticism Lyle has got from the wider football community and not just Charlton, if managers from other clubs haven't had the conversation yet like Monk when they do I dont think there will be many refusing to play lol.

Who was the ex-player? I don't really want to get into the race situation but how do you determine when criticism of anyone is due to their behaviour, their race (or anything else) or a mixture? How can you legitimately criticise anyone without being accused of being various 'ist'?shine166 said:

I feel pretty much the same about Chris Solly's decision with 2 differences; 1) Solly is less likely to play and make a significant difference 2) Solly is likely to be going to a lower league club not a rival0

He was basically saying that everyone is making a massive deal over Taylor and not mentioning Solly because of Taylors race.
When in fact its because Taylor is a first team regular and our top scorer and Solly hasnt even been in the 18 since the start of January, its got nothing to do with race0

Exactly! Unfortuately I see this sort of comment undermining a very real and key issue. It is like asking why Lampard and Gerard are in key management roles but Sol Campbell and Ashley Cole aren't (as some did)!paulie8290 said:

I take it you disagree with my post, or you are being pedantic.0

Let us imagine, as I think is probable, that Taylor has been given the message by his potential new club not to play for us. He needs to look in the mirror and ask himself if it is a good move to go to a club which is willing to drag his name through the mud where his professionalism and loyalty to his team mates is questioned and this will be remembered. It isn't as if he wont have options and he could ensure his next club is a decent one. Look at Cullen. He isn't even a Charlton player and has committed himself to us for the remainder of the season.4

Let's hope he doesn't drop a bottle of salad cream on his foot.1

I have seen some of Taylor’s other Insta stories since and he has received quite a bit of racist abuse from our ‘fans’. Absolutely disgusting really. He ‘outs’ them. Embarrassing. Not siding with Taylor whatsoever, I am fuming with him but that’s really not on.7

If Taylor is going to a Championship Club with the new regulations he may still play this season possibly even against us if its Brentford.
Fifa have announced 2 changes to transfer regulations.
1- a player can play for 3 teams instead of 2 in the same season.
2- if a league wishes to, they can open the transfer window before the end of the current season, now the Premier League have decided against that, but I haven't seen what the EFL have said regarding th Championship.

Or his agent, Mutts, or his agent..it may well be that his agent will claim he was "asked" to do it by the other club, but if so he will have been all to ready to agree to do that, because his own big payout is at risk if Taylor got injured.MuttleyCAFC said:Let us imagine, as I think is probable, that Taylor has been given the message by his potential new club not to play for us. I agree, it would have been done by his agent but it would be on the behest of another club.0

"Leave it to me, Jonathan, (or whoever it is) he'll be delivered, oven ready"
 That sort of "behest" ?2

That's about it. Just enough for everybody to know where they stand with no come back. All the shit falls on Taylor but he will get a nice contract. The thing is, when he signs for his new club, we will know who they are.PragueAddick said:

Indeed. I have some (virtual) money on Boro, because Woodgate is one of Lee Matthews' clients. Conflict of interest? Nah mate, it's a dog eat dog world, innit?MuttleyCAFC said:

You can’t compare with Cullen .MuttleyCAFC said:Let us imagine, as I think is probable, that Taylor has been given the message by his potential new club not to play for us. He’s a lot younger at the start not the end of his career .
He’s got a contract at West Ham for another year and isn’t being offered 3 times his salary elsewhere having been pissed about with derisory offers .
Yes Taylor’s actions are those of a selfish twunt but I can see where him and the Solly are coming from , I don’t like it and it’s filth but in ten years time when he’s drinking Bacardi breezers in Benidorm enjoying the high life without a mortgage he’ll have known he’s probably made the right life changing decision for his selfish self .
If I owned Charlton I’d have whacked in £100k or whatever it cost for a 2 month water tight insurance policy on Lyle and said give me your all and you’re covered for loss of earnings if it goes tits up but no we have fucking Terry fuckwit and co at the helm of our joke shop .11

As far as Taylor is concerned he leaves us in credit. I understand why he has acted in the way he has. He is 30 and his career has been a lower league one. Its peak has so far been with us! He is running out of time to get a big pay day. And a club offering him that has instructed him subtly not to play (I am sure of that). If it was Boro it would make even more sense.
I do also believe Taylor will live to regret his decision. It may not be financially but his reputation will always be a little tarnished by this. His new club have hung him out to dry IMO. There will come a time when that will be important to him, even if it isn't now, as I am sure he is a very decent person.1

I've just read what Dickson said and there was no mention of the unacceptable racist comments to Taylor. Personally I think he is wrong to call it by comparing Taylor to Solly as not the same situationPrincessFiona said:

Was that before FIFA changed the rulling tho, now its officially been changed and down to individuals I just wonder if they will change there mind, as I said in the other thread, I hope and expect them to follow the Premier League and say any player signed now can't play until next season, but you just never know with the EFL lolForeverAddickted said:I thought the EFL had said it wouldn't be allowed @paulie82901
