Some really harsh situations for other clubs. We should be thankful our destiny is in our own hands3

Couldn’t give a sh!t about Coventry. There only claim to fame is SCP scored his last goal against them.ForeverAddickted said:
They were on a bad run of form - Agreeing to continue the season could have seen them drop away furtherCallumcafc said:Wycombe votes to end the season but are just fine with playing in the play-offs. Funny how that works!
Especially as their game in hand was against Coventry
Good to see Coventry back in the Championship, cant believe its nearly been a decade since they were last at this level0 -
For god's sake don't let Lyle Taylor hear that.Garrymanilow said:Let every team have a transfer window and then just get the results based on bookies' odds. It would save a lot of time, the players wouldn't get as tired, we wouldn't have to travel to away games. Jackpot.0 -
Was a good joint protest from Charlton, Coventry fans the last time these two metAddicksAddict said:

I think its a stupid idea playing the play off finals at an empty Wembley, the stadium is a souless bowl with fans in it so god knows what it will feel like empty. They would be better off playing the finals on a tight, compact ground bringing the stands closer to the pitch.MStuartPerm said:Imagine getting to Wembley, and not being able to attend!3 -
An utter shambles.
To put this decision in perspective, if just one match fails to finish due to fog, dangerous underfoot conditions etc etc it is replayed. The result isn't decided on the basis of the score at that time and the rules clearly state that the match MUST be replayed however inconsequential to the table that result will be.
20% of the games haven't been played and there isn't any provision in the rules for the table to be decided at the point that the season was curtailed. So, the clubs end up voting from their own bias perspective.3 -
Wycombe were 9th and now have jumped to 3rd because they had a good first half of the season. what a joke8
-
This. I wonder if there will be a legal challenge somewhere down the line. Then again, a precedent was set last season when Bolton didnt fulfil all their fixtures & the EFL let the table stand as it was.Addick Addict said:An utter shambles.

It really should be Complete the Season or Void the Season.
I'm peed off for Peterborough, however I suppose the void decision wouldn't change the outcome of them for this decision.0 -
Because there is no guarantee that tranmere would have won them both.golfaddick said:
So, Tranmere had a game in hand over Wimbledon AND had to play them as well.Todds_right_hook said:
Their next game was at Wimbledon, if that weekends fixtures were fulfilled, it could have been very differentForeverAddickted said:
Its probably more harsh on Tranmere than the rest, they were in form and had a game in hand against Wimbledon three points above themDazzler21 said:Callumcafc said:Playoffs will be Wycombe, Oxford, Portsmouth and Fleetwood.
So just as it is then? Wait no? Just seen Wycombe have jumped 2 places and moved Peterborough out of play offs...Callumcafc said:Relegated teams: Bolton, Southend, Tranmere.
Cruel and wrong IMO
Certainly not been boring being a fan of them though
Relegated | Relegated | Promoted | Promoted | Relegated has been their last five seasons
So how does relegating Tranmere make sense.
say tranmere had won their game in hand, they still would have finished below Wimbledon on goal difference0 -

My thoughts exactly. There's no way he wasn't complicit in the whole "dupe the fans" ploy when everyone in the football world apparently knew the score. To stay quiet about it was one thing but to actively go along with silly bollocks isn't good.Todds_right_hook said:Wycombe were level on points with Sunderland in 7th and Peterborough in 6th. Sunderland has played two games more.
im glad Peterborough miss out because of their owners friendship and praise for southall
Plus the only Peterborough fan I've ever met was, and probably still is, an utter bellend.
However, it is piss poor for the fans and players.3 -

Eh...? They still had to play Wimbledon so if they beat them by a few goals & won their game in hand they would be above them.Todds_right_hook said:

A bit like us & Hull apart from the game in game.
You can't just end a season without playing all the games. Otherwise I would like the records changed to show that in 1998/99 we didnt play our last game & we stayed up.0 -
I can’t believe where Wycombe are looking at that table, the EFL get worse with every single decision they make.6
-
I'd guess there are a few lawyers busy looking into this right now.

To be fair it’s the clubs that have made the decision.ValleyGary said:I can’t believe where Wycombe are looking at that table, the EFL get worse with every single decision they make.
Because the EFL are cowardly feckwits.2 -
surely the playoff finals will be at the most centrally available stadium between the 2 teams involved, thus reducing travelling etc.eaststandmike said:

Did any team vote for the option that was not in their best interest ?2

Pleased that Rotherham got promoted. Normally favourites for relegation and quite a decent away ground. Coventry is rubbish. Been Ricoh Arena twice and have not enjoyed either trips. Empty bowl with no pubs nearby. Cannot see these two doing much next season than trying to survive.

Think heard them say its almost certain to be Wembley.Callumcafc said:

On the plus side, Darragh MacAnthony is having an absolute meltdown on Twitter and it's very enjoyable to watch. I never like the chairmen who are overly vocal on social media. It's all nice when things are going well but when they don't like something it inevitably leads to very public tantrums and it's just embarrassing to have your owner doing that. Seeing as MacAnthony was very vocal about Southall being great, clearly involved in some transfer lies over Maddison and has gone very quiet about it all since he can absolutely do one.

That table does look ridiculous, Posh's GD is 23 better than Wycombe's!
Rotherham are really lucky too, just 2 points from their last 3 matches so they were stuttering0 -
all about money and practicality for leagues 1 & 2 .. most of the clubs just can't afford to be travelling up and down the country to play games in empty stadia, paying for travel, insurances, wages and everything else, with zero income .. as it is they can now sort out contracts, dump and sign players, and prepare for next season
ANY decision other than playing out the season is unsatisfactory. This outcome is unfair to some, but fair to the majority and is the best available compromise
