Wycombe votes to end the season but are just fine with playing in the play-offs. Funny how that works!

So just as it is then? Wait no? Just seen Wycombe have jumped 2 places and moved Peterborough out of play offs...

    Cruel and wrong IMO

They were on a bad run of form - Agreeing to continue the season could have seen them drop away further

Especially as their game in hand was against Coventry

Good to see Coventry back in the Championship, cant believe its nearly been a decade since they were last at this level

Wycombe were outside of the play off places with a game in hand

Wycombe were level on points with Sunderland in 7th and Peterborough in 6th. Sunderland has played two games more.

im glad Peterborough miss out because of their owners friendship and praise for southall

Its probably more harsh on Tranmere than the rest, they were in form and had a game in hand against Wimbledon three points above them

Certainly not been boring being a fan of them though

McAnthony has been a proper whingy bitch throughout all this too

Complaining that they're the highest scorers | have the best goal difference in the league so its not fair they shouldnt be in the Play-Offs

Well how about you make sure you've got the most points for once rather than pointless stats

Absolute travesty. It's frustrating enough just to think about something like this happening to us, I can't imagine how infuriating it must be to take this as a fan of a team who has been screwed over. PPG fails to take into account everything that makes football interesting; that anything could happen at any moment. It's basically an attempt at scripting football. If that's the case then why do we even bother? Let every team have a transfer window and then just get the results based on bookies' odds. It would save a lot of time, the players wouldn't get as tired, we wouldn't have to travel to away games. Jackpot.

Very harsh on Sunderland and Peterboro, both sides really starting to show form and could easily have pushed for top 2 let alone the play offs. I suspect Sunderland are in a lot of financial difficulty for not going up this year.

One things for sure if you looks at the teams in League 1

    Ipswich
    Sunderland
    Peterborough
    Portsmouth

Coventry and Rotherham going up and the possibility they could be joined by Oxford, Fleetwood or Wycombe, the Championship will definitely(unless Portsmouth win the play offs obviously) have 3 weaker teams than it may have had
  • The season after the 1998 playoffs saw Charlton relegated and Sunderland promoted. At least that sequence won’t get repeated this time around.

Sunderland has played a game more than Wycombe and Peterborough, with Wycombe playing one less. It might have been fair to have a Wycombe v Peterborough play off to get to the play offs. But then where do you draw the line.

i quite liked the Peterborough chairman until the southall is a good guy who will do good things comment. I now hope Peterborough struggle for eternity

Another reason why we dont want to go down this year

League One next term with Barnsley | Luton (the other potentials relegated) will be very tough!!

Wonder whether they'll be a 20/21 League One and Two season either, which is a depressing thought in our current predicament.

It's the wrong decision in my opinion.

You finish if you can, you void it if you can't.

Depends whether we get relegated though. If we do league one could look extremely tough next season!!

And another nail in the 72(-1)s coffin.

PL2, and possibly 3, another day closer.

Its disappointing that funding hasnt filtered its way down to ensure that Leagues can finish off

Thats the simple reason for League One and League Two not restarting

Take a look at Scottish Football, you'll notice that Rangers and Celtic are trying to use the restructuring suggestions as a way to get their "B" teams into their Football League

So, Tranmere had a game in hand over Wimbledon AND had to play them as well.

So how does relegating Tranmere make sense.

Imagine getting to Wembley, and not being able to attend!
