  • Never thought I would bracket him in the Parker/Defoe/Grant camp. Thought he was a better person than that. Don't have any sympathy either with him not being able to sleep. Ah, diddums.

What makes it even galling is he refers to his knee injury that he picked up whilst playing for Monserat. A  injury that meant he missed half the season & one of the reasons why we are now in the bottom 3.

Any decent person would take this into account & say......"do you know what, the club let me go & play in a meaningless fixture & paid me all through the time I couldn't give them my services. Now its time for me to repay them that & to play to the end of my contracted period"

Taylor is a good League 1 player & a half decent Championship player. But look around at the top Championship / bottom Premier League strikers and he is not in that bracket.
don't think you can bracket Grant with Parker/Defoe/Taylor. I certainly can't remember Karlan refusing to play for us.
  • Indeed, in his final game for them he was stretchered off in the 32nd minute and replaced by Joe Pigott!

    Faking it

Could you imagine how funny it would be if he failed his medical!
I would potentially never stop laughing. Though the irony is that would make him right about how risky playing on his knee is

Ironic that he called Southall a fraud the other week........
And also highlighted in the same interview how he went about his business as a “professional”.

And then he goes and does possibly the most unprofessional thing a footballer can do....

that interview did his cause no good.
Did it no good with us. I imagine there's value in him getting his woe is me side out to the wider public seeing as this has had such broad coverage. Just another two fingers up to us really
  • a lot of outlets now picking the story up and most are in agreement that its wrong what he is doing.
  • No wonder him and Southall clashed, both so arrogant as to think all their actions are justified, but instead just self centred, greedy businessmen essentially. I can see the text from Southall now to Lyle "welcome to my world mate, lol", which will be an even bigger kick in the teeth for him. To become the person you despise, ouch.

Hopefully they're now pissed off enough to prove a point - Dont think the 50% cut is a bad thing to be honest, although how had a 50% increase when we got promoted?

If there arent many then actually getting us in the Championship has hurt the players more financially as a result as they'll be on less in League One than what they were on last time

He not done his team mates any favours there - that said they All knew the clause at the start of the season and all the way through it.

That’s if it’s true of course.
  • Fk me, we have the lowest budget in the league... they expecting to pay there own subs amd take turns washing the kit next season ?

Great motivation for the others to band together and stay up now, can turn this negative into a huge positive
  • Grant played against Peterborough the weekend before moving. If I remember rightly he missed training on the Friday to agree terms but Bowyer asked him to play as Taylor was suspended

Were they practicing penalties at the Friday training session by any chance?

Do you not remember the penalty in his last game for us, could he be bothered to score?
  • Yet still people do not accept why Taylor has taken the stance he has.
After what Taylor has now said about the reason he
will not honour his contract with us and show character and integrity etc etc, if I was the manger or chairman of any intetested Club I would think again ......as this man could have an injury phobia
or just be potential trouble !

Is it fair to say that he's off your Christmas card list?
The first time I met Taylor I thought he was a nice bloke.
but the first time I saw Southall and heard his first interview I thought he was a dishonest rat conman!!
  • Or say “bollocks to it, this club is an absolute joke”

Still need to show other clubs that they're worth taking on when they leave us though
  • Typo manager and interested.

I don’t know how many Charlton fans are serious business people and I dont how many Charlton fans
    are seriously street wise.
but as always there seems to be a lot of knee Jerk
negativity on this forum to quickly ?

i think we should give ESI and HE a chance to show their true hand or worth, till at least the end of this month.
Lee Bowyer must have his new contract in place by then, or there will be serious concern.

Has Roland Rat actually been paid any money at all
    as yet for anything?

  • Can we assume he's off our wage bill, along with Solly and Davis?
  • If we were mid table with nothing to play for it wouldn't have been so bad. But seeing as we are in a relegation battle he really is an arsehole. Just a thought if we were already safe could we be accused of not playing our best side?
  • I put my hands up once to confirm I had been conned by Southall and again to admit that Nimer clearly was not in a position to take us forward.

I don't understand like Paulie says why we cannot just admit when we've been wrong?

If we was safe in table...and we had youth players who might be up for some experience.

All the best players would rugby tackle bowyer to the floor shouting in his face...

"Don't play us for the rest of this season! I don't care about the fact that we get paid...we might get an injured!"

Obviously. It's the norm and it's only fair.

Actually, wait. They still might do that even if we was in the relegation zone. I'm confused..

Agreed, I was wrong to trust these bastards

Unless its Varney taking over then I'll still have a lot of doubt about whoever comes in
