I could have the dates wrong but wasn't Joe Harts loan to Torino 2016-2017 season, if so according to this he played a number of games for England whilst in Italy

Quite possibly Paulie. I got the question off a mate recently, so not sure how closely he checked it. Not very, by the look of it!

As you pointed out Rooney wasn't on there.

Plus I noticed Trippier and Hart wasn't on there, so he probably got it online but from a few years ago, so the last couple of years not included.

The only recent one on the list was Sancho which he probably knew of the top of his head anyway lol

There you go @lordromford a quick Google search for England Players who got caps whilst playing abroad and this was the first link and its from 2018

The 24 names without the recent ones like Rooney, Hart and Trippier

Thought Joe Baker might be on this list. But whilst he was capped playing football outside England, it wasn’t during his spell in Italy

It was during his spell in Scotland, so not a foreign country, but a "foreign" league!

I thought Dorigo too, having seen him in the Chelsea Charlton throwback on Sat.
    Torino wasn’t it?

Think his England career was long ago by then though.

Foreign team in the English pyramid. Swansea and Wrexham are the same, Berwick similar in being English but play in Scotland. Kiwi teams in the A-League would also be in the same boat. Any others around the world?

Think there is a team from Brunei who play in the Malaysian League... Steve Kean (ex-Blackburn) was their Manager at some point.

Not to mention the MLS has Canadian teams
