RIP the Cat. I had Bonetti goalkeeper gloves as a kid and met him at a Q &A event. He was a real gent0

Sad news.
My younger brother collaborated on a book with him some years back and said he was a very nice bloke.

Never to be forgotten. Especially England v Germany 1970 WC. RIP0

Personally, this is sad as he was a friend of the family. We used to go to the same church in Keymer in Sussex.
He was extremely shy but the most lovely fella.

Very sad news, RIP Peter.I tried to play like him when I was an aspiring goalkeeper in the 1960's, unfortunately not very well.0

Great keeper in his day. RIP0

RIP...when he left football he became a postman IIRC, it's hard to imagine a modern footballer doing that post-retirement. Although I think it was more for the peace of life than because he had to take a job.

My sister in laws father played for Fulham back in the day (not a long career, ended up in South Africa) and remembered playing against Bonetti.

Think he owned The Gloucester Arms in Addiscombe in the late 70s. Pub become The Drum and Monkey in the end. All gone now. RIP.0

Two future Addicks John Dunn and John Phillips were amongst his understudies in his near 20 years at the Bridge.3
