Rich people spend money, not compete with Bolton for players. We are skint, we just now have a chairman that shows his boat race and says nice things on camera. The marquee signing we thought was coming has happened, it was Bowyer’s contract, and even that was made a meal of.2

“We need the takeover to be complete so we sign players in jan”
”Most of the deals are done near the end”
”The has injuries are coming back we don’t need that much”
”League one won’t be that bad cos we have stability now”
COMING SOON:
”Can’t expect us to get back up straight away it’s a tough league”

No one promised a marquee signing this window.5

I take it are sustainability 5 year plan includes relegation to league one at the end of this season. I justed wanted a wealthy Russian oligarch to own us and splash the cash, was that to much to hope for.2

Most of the deals are done near the end of the window - there's plenty of time left. We don't want to pay too much for players.0

There's money as surely they wouldn't pass the 'fit and proper person test'? Also would the EFL allow a pay later takeover?
My thoughts are another group who want to get to the premier league spending as little as possible. It will go wrong again and Roly will have the last laugh, unfortunately.1 -

As it stand ESI haven't made any real financial input. Mr Southall is, in football terms, skint. HE has personal wealth that is beyond my wildest dreams but not enough to fund big losses, on top of the cost of the final purchase.
My best guess is that MS and HE will be working overtime going through thier, obviously well heeled, contact list trying to drum up sponsorship deals and other forms of finance as soon as possible. 2 sell out crowds will look good as they tour the great and good of the UAE.1 -
If things do turn out for the better and we do have some money behind us, I hope we remember those clubs that tried to turn us over in this window0

Hmmmmm.
Not a single permanent signing and a real haggle over Bowyers contract.
They did resist selling Taylor, but I don't think that was too difficult.
IMO we will only really start seeing some cash if Southall can turn this into a commercial and corporate money generator.
Quite how you do that when we are rattling around in league one is anyone's guess?1 -
The summer is always the real time to see how much backing we have now
Jarred Bowen to West Ham for £22m was the most expensive transfer this month, that wouldnt have been the case a few years ago
January is only gonna become more and more of a waste of time
Might as well change the format and make it a window open to loan deals only1 -

Maybe there is a perception that we are mega-rich which is why some options were trying for better deals which resulted in no deal. I have said before not to brag about being rich as it just raises expectatiions abount what we can afford or pay0

We aren’t owned by the sheikh, we’re owned by the guy that works for the sheikh. Fabulously successful and wealthy in his own right, but it’s not unlimited Man City type money.

Huge sums are there to be had when Matt Southall, Bow and his back room team can show they can steer us there......which I for one believe they can.1 -

You may as well say we are in The Premier League.
The height of silliness.0 -
There is no evidence yet what funds these guys have or what they are prepared to spend, only that they have spent very little so far.
That may change but so far we are trying to move forward slowly on very limited investment.
My guess is that the business plan is to take small steps to make the club more attractive and make a decent return on a "relative" small outlay by selling the club on at some point in the future. Certainly not mega rich free spenders heading for the big time.0 -
It appears we don't have a whole load of money. Which, if we did have a whole load of money, is not an unhelpful appearance. We'll see, I guess.0
