Just finished box set of Boys from the Blackstuff including the original Play for Today.
Still as compelling as it was years ago, so many memorable performances.3 -
The cat killer on netflix is pretty good1
-
New series of Ray Donavan ruined by sound issues in later episodes.1

SantaClaus said:The Boys is one of my favourite shows but Karl Urban's mockney/Kiwi accent is comically bad.Urban does a proper Dick Van Dyke. But I like his character. Uses the c word more than any other character in TV history?1

Don’t F**ck With Cats
wow, just wow, one messed up fella (and his mother)2 -
New series of Curb Your Enthusiasm on new Sky Comedy channel at 2:05 tomorrow morning.2
-
Just watched the two part piece on the Jonestown suicides/murders .. absolutely harrowing story of the mass mind control exerted by a narcissistic fuck up over hundreds of vulnerable people looking for a meaning to their lives .. genuinely gripping and very troubling1

Deadwater Fell on C4 is really good. I'm praying for a decent final episode, something that UK dramas seem to really lack.
The Outsider on SKY Atlantic is enjoyable so far.3 -
Series Three of This Country should be out soon - this and People Just Do Nothing have been my favourite comedies of recent times.1

Liking Deadwater Fell and recording The Outsider. I've read the book but really looking forward to the interpretation for the screen. SK is usually less than complimentary of the latter...
Also finished all 6 episodes of The Sky on Netflix over a non football weekend.
DEFINITELY worth watching IMO.1 -

That pretty much sums up Armando Ianucci.

given upon You season 2. Boring and predictable, plus watching Joe and Love makes me feel a bit ill.2

I would persist if I were you(pun not intended), honestly the last 2/3 episodes were brilliant. I would say it wasn't so predictable, although I did half guess where it was heading so maybe it is?2 -
The new Curb Your Enthusiasm was pretty good. It has run its course slightly and Larry has gone OTT, but things like the Trump hat and ‘tapping hour’ still make it worthwhile.

I've been forced to get a new TV, which arrives tomorrow and has the NetFlix app installed. Is there a way for me to browse what they offer before signing up, or only once I do?
What's it like generally for non-US drama? I believe it has "Occupied" and of course "Sunderland til I Die", more like that?0 -

Half way through Stockholm Requiem. Excellent nordic fare.1

Occupied is an excellent show, as are Midnight Diner:Tokyo Stories (Japanese), Dark (German) & Call My Agent (French). Netflix is dominated by US shows & films but there is plenty of excellent European stuff on there’s as well. For a monthly subscription starting at £5.99 I think that it is great value for money.2

Re Netflix European stuff, I found this, looks quite encouraging...0

Series 3 of Snowfall starts tonight on BBC 2
not the most watched of US imports but is actually one of the better recent ones.0
