Things Parky learnt from Pardew...

This isn't meant as a dig, merely a bit of fun. But can I start the ball rolling with these two:

1. Never give Dicko more than 15 mins.

2. If in doubt, always substitute a striker with a defender (although that one probably goes all the way back to Curbs when we were playing that boring, mediocre, mid-table Premiership stuff !)

Any more suggestions?

    3. Love Matt Holland, and call him Matty.

    4. Talk about how good Zheng Zhi is when he is injured.

    5. Praise Jonjo, but explain how we must protect him.

One thing I've noticed he's done the opposite of Pardew (and Curbs), he leaves 2 players up for corners, rather than bringing everyone back!

    Would request an amendment to:

    2. If in doubt, always substitute the only Charlton striker on the pitch with a defender

Stand on the touchline trying to look interested but really wondering what the missus has got in for tea.

  • Only make substitutions at the 75 - 80 minute stage. Keep the subs warming up for at least an hour. Never make tactical substitutions, just use subs to replace knackered players. Explain that we will be working hard on problem areas in the coming week.
But he has got rid of the McLaren/Pardew notebook.

Dicko is somebody I've wanted to see more off since he arrived at the Club.

However the guy doesn't help himself sometimes. I think he could have done more running off the ball than he did given that he was only going to be on 15 minutes. A couple of times at least he appeared to make no attempt to lose his marker and make himself available when Semedo and Bailey were trying to push forward towards the end.
  • Maybe why we aint seen much of him Len ?

I think he should have been on at the same time as Jonjo not instead of. I've seen them many times together in the reserves and can do quite well together. Would have been interesting to see them both out there today in the first half when we where dominating so much

    Agreed in an ideal world.

I think today though Jonjo was knackered after his excellent efforts by the time Dickson got his run out.

I thought Jonjo really broke with pace and purpose. Was great to see. We have been so pedestrian lately. Got me out of my seat at least, can't say that has happened much lately.
