This isn't the Charlton we saw earlier in the season. Literally. With all the injuries etc it highlights the value of squad depth. Disjointed, overly defensive, we only threatened briefly in the second half.
Phillips, Oshilaja, Leko, Gallagher were ok. Ledley not up to speed at all.  Good to see Taylor back, but he'll need a couple of games.
Might be heading for a relegation battle.

I think Leko has been decent last few games but he was atrocious today.

The first month was a blip. Ever since we've been a relegation team.

Need everyone back quickly and reinforcements if we're gonna stay up this season.

Someone drop Leko off at West brom on way home. Never seen such a shit player. Fucking awful
Tbf he's been a lot better the last few games and no one was any good today
Actually think bar a couple of bits of wastefulness he was better than Bonne today and actually played some useful stuff.
  • We're playing the shittiest crappiest out of form teams in the division and still losing , can we play against ourselves .

We are shocking beyond belief .

This season we have found our "we're still 5th" replacement saying "we'll be ok once the injured players come back"

9 points from 14 games is shit beyond all shitness

7 points from the relegation zone,  only 5 teams between us and the dreaded R

Big big week for us with 2 home fixtures coming up

    0%       Automatics ..................... 0%     Play offs ..................... 10%     7th-12th ............................ 75%    13th-21st ..........................15%  Relegation
  • It'll only get worse - we're there on Tuesday...

Not at the game & only followed it on SSSS so no comments on the match itself.

We need to fucking shoot more. No shots at all 1st half & only 5 all game......2 on target. You won't win football matches that way.

And at least all the bottom 3 lost. All that matters this season is we finish above 3 other teams. Anything else is a bonus.

Loses the ball all the time and won't run back if he loses it. Head goes straight down. Can't pass the ball and when he does he can't even complete the pass. 😂😂😂
Played some of our better passes today.

What did everyone expect from the two dullest teams in history?

You could see Boro were there for the taking but we were not there to take them.

Not good enough. Can keep blaming the injuries all we like but we’ve got a full strength back 4 that have given away shit goals every match for the last 2 months.
  • By far the worst I've seen us play this season - and last come to that, though I didn't see as many games. Looked indecisive, poor defensively and second to the ball nearly all the time. Bowyer probably made an error in starting with Ledley but I'm sure he had his reasons. We looked a bit better in the second half but I don't think we could have been any worse than the first.

Need to get some confidence back as well as some of our injured playeers. A flukey last minute goal sometime would help.

Any more smelling the coffee now?
What coffee is that? A successful January window and you'll all be back to forgetting how bad things have gotten this season.

We overperformed and expectations rose. Effort is still there the mind is willing but the bodies failing.

Hopefully we can get some decent squad rotation going with some new players.
  • Midway through last season we would have been over the moon to be where we are at the moment. Everyone knew it would be a battle to stay up. With the injuries we have had, we were always going to struggle. There are a few players that need a bit of confidence . Although I would go back to a tested back 4 which I think would be stronger of Solly, Prately , Lockyer nd Purrington . We can then build from there.

    We looked flat all game.
Good to get Taylor back. He looked alright.
Two winnable home games coming up. We need a win.
    No spark today.
No one really played well. Dillon probably the best. And Ojhilaja made a couple of crucial stops. That was about it really.

Golfie, we didn't get near enough to their final third for any shots in the first half.

Their goal was because their players wanted it more. Was at least a couple of chances to stop it. Inexcusable.

Really bad today, our players looked too knackered to go for the equaliser

85 minutes until a shot on target says it all. Not the first time we’ve put in a performance like that at Boro, we always seem to play shit at the Riverside.

Second half was better than the first but to be honest they could have just dropped their shorts and laid 11 fresh turds in the centre circle and it would have been better than the first half performance.

Deji played pretty well although the defending was all a bit frantic and last ditch. Purrington was well out of sorts. Pearce is morphing further into a cart horse each week. Matthews is a complete nothing player, neither dynamic in attack or particularly outstanding in defence. It says something that a 19 year old winger haslooked better at full back in the last few weeks than either Matthews or Purrington.

Was good to have Connor back but he was trying too hard at times to make up for the failings of those around him. Midfield was alarmingly thin otherwise. Pratley has gone well and truly off the boil. Doughty was lost first half, but much better when pushed wider, even if it was at fullback. Ledley way off the pace, unsurprisingly. Albie was tidy when he came on and at least he had a shot.

Leko tried and as usual got some things right and some wrong. Probably had our two clearest sights on goal and made the wrong decision both times. Bonne was pretty anonymous with next to no service. Taylor’s hustle and bustle briefly showed what we’ve been missing, but he wasn’t fully fit either.

I’ll give Boro some credit as they defended well albeit we weren’t exactly brimming with invention. If they could shoot it would have been a much more comfortable scoreline for them

Another tough day at the office. Still think we’re at least a couple of weeks away from competing better. Worryingly Cullen is being badly badly missed and he is weeks if not months away from a return. Still also believe we’ll be alright in the end but think we may well drop into the bottom 3 before climbing out again.

We barely even got in their half in the first 45mins
  • I cannot understand people saying the next two games are winnable, Hull are a tidy side and Bowen is scoring for fun.

Like everyone I hate it when Charlton lose. Things will pick up again when injured players return. Looking like Charlton can strengthen in the Jan window. Everything’s going to be fine & Charlton will stay in the division & be in a good place for next season. Charlton supporters need to hold on.

In Lee Bowyer, Steve Gallen & Jonnie Jackson we trust.

Comments like that are ridiculous when you are on a run like we are on.

If we didn’t have quality players returning and the takeover ( barring some catastrophe) I’d be worried. However, those things are happening so we will be ok I’m sure.
No point in being too down as much as it isn’t great at the moment.

    In terms of positive feedback.

Was lovely to bring on 2 players that both made positive impacts, even if it didn't change anything else on the day
