    Still doesn’t change the fact that it’s been widely reported that there’s a serious American group involved, I don’t trust RM as much as the next person, but I doubt he’d be saying what he did at the dinner last night, unless there was concrete interest from somewhere.

    If he was there with Preston why wasn't he in the directors box?

    It may well be that he has nothing to do with any Charlton takeover but we're making that connection, not Alan Nixon in the Sun story

    People in any sort of “know” are very very few. RM is one who most certainly is, and that is why I give it credence.

    I can now confess that RM is my source for saying it is going to happen and will be claiming the official title of ‘I told you so most in the know person on Charlton Life’ award when the sale goes through. Sorry James!

    My guess is that he said what people wanted to hear at the dinner to put him in a good light for the evening. He’ll now bugger off to wherever he buggers off to until the next do he feels obliged to attend.

    You mean we are not actually sold until someone has actually legally taken over? Never knew that. I thought that as long as it was on the Charlton website that would be fine.
    So what you are saying is that if my house has an estate agents board outside saying “sold”, it is not actually sold until the money has been exchanged and the legal bits completed?

    Murray made the statement at the end of the evening,so there was no need to ingratiate himself as everyone was about to go home.

    It's fantastic news that Richard Murray has made a statement.  Because, with statements, everyone can see exactly what's happening and when to expect a conclusion.  And statements can never be misinterpreted.  So if a statement has been issued we can rely on it, completely.  Especially if the statement is anything to do with Richard Murray. Like this one, clarifying Roland's position with regards to the imminent takeover: 
    In terms of detail he [Roland] will continue to be constrained by the terms of the non disclosure agreements which are in place but he is very conscious of the level of interest among Charlton fans about the issue of the club's ownership and the frustration many are feeling about the current situation. We anticipate that he [Murray] will be seeking to keep fans as well informed as possible.
