Sporting Moments of the Decade

Other than BFG’s goal.....

There are lots but my favourites are all recent - maybe it’s an age thing !

Here are a few:

Ben Stokes to win The Ashes match this summer.

England to get to the Semi Final of the Football World Cup.

England winning the Cricket World Cup last ball in the Super Over against New Zealand.

Beating New Zealand in the semi final of the Rugby World Cup.

As an oarsman it was embarrassing to watch Redgrave rowing like a novice, being pulled over by his team-mates. Much better my mate Steve Trapmore stroking the eight to unexpected victory an hour later.

The whole of the 2012 Olympics (after all those slagging it off before it had even started) was a superb spectacle of sport.

Mark Cavendish winning the Green Jersey and Rainbow Jersey's
Dont care what people say, for me it was that moment that started our TdF dominance not Bradley Wiggins!!

    2012 Olympics
Just showed what we can achieve in this country, was just amazing getting to host one of the biggest Sporting Events

    2011/12 League One Season
    Well we won it!!

    England v Colombia / 2018 World Cup
We won a Penalty shootout and reached a Semi-Final

    2018/19 League One Season
Just the togetherness and spirit that Bowyer built, culminating with that game @ Wembley

    Andy Murray winning Wimbledon
    FINALLY... A British Winner!!

    The Summer of Ben Stokes
Now I'm not a massive Cricket fan but seriously, two amazing innings

Leicester City winning the Premier League
Really shouldnt have happened, what a great moment for their fans

In terms.of an actual moment, I don't think you can top Buttler smashing the bails off.

  • We’ve been blessed with some pretty special moments this decade.

Single achievement has to be Andy Murray’s 2013 win.

team achievement was the World Cup team from last year. united a divided country for a month. How we could do with that again

    Totally agree.

I also think that people under estimate that Stokes match winning innings too. Not many teams batting last score that many to win a test match let alone in an Ashes series with only 1 wicket left.

IMHO, over the last decade we have had too many events to narrow it down to one single event.

Ok I lied - it's Bauer in the 94th minute

I know this isn't a thread about our title winning season but another one can't go without mention

Winning 3-2 away at Yeovil on boxing day we won the league that day
